What people fail to understand about artists who produce videos and photo-stories on the internet is that these producers are not large companies with lots of paid employees at their disposal. I worked on a straight-to-internet magazine show that profiled independent producers of online tv series and videos not too long ago on the west coast, and whether they were producing sketch comedies, soapish dramas, informational talk or how-tos, the one thing they all have in common is that they have a passion for their genre or subject but have just a small handful of people to write, shoot and edit video while still maintaining and updating the website. Most of the time, it's the same person(s) doing it all while maintaining a "real" job to make a living. If you become a fan of any such site, it is a privilege to get an update with a new episode or video.
SK, I don't know what your business model is, but I'm sure the money you earn from video sales and donations mostly goes to bring in talent for future videos and photo-sets. I'm sure if you are shooting videos, you cannot edit or update at the same time. And when you have to visit the ER and re-coup from illness, through no fault of your own, work on the site cannot be done. This is what people like Ralph who do not know what goes into not only producing and maintaining such a website, most of which is offered for free, but also the time involved in shooting and editing video, do not understand. These people only understand their own need for new videos without considering that independent producers are not NBC or ESPN who employ separate video editors and webmasters on staff.
Sleeperkid still produces the best product in the women's wresting genre. No one else has the attention for detail while maintaining a pure pro wrestling mind-set. While other producers simply turn on the camera to present over-priced and poorly ad-libbed or edited products, SK gives us free photo-sets and reasonably priced PPVs and DVDs from a video director's POV. Every update is privilege. If you feel entitled to quicker updates, then give SK the money to hire a full-time video and/or web editor whose only job is to bring us updates. Until then, no more complaints about updates. Please!
