I have stayed unconscious after being sleepered out cold for anywhere from a few seconds to maybe 20 - 30 seconds. But, I don't know that for sure. Sometimes I have crazy, disjointed thoughts (dreams). Other times not. But always, no sense of time passing.
A caution...as others on this site including Sleeperkid have said, sleeper holds are dangerous. In my case, I have chronic acid reflus ... otherwise known as heartburn. I had surgery recently, and the anesthesiologists were concerned that I might aspirate (regurgitate) as I was going unconscious, so they discussed various precautions they might take when they put me out for surgery.
Regurgitation upon losing consciousness is a very dangerous situation.
There are other possible ramifications, none of them good.
Also, if you do try sleepering someone out, release the pressure immediately when they go out. Do not wait 30 seconds.
