I think the Jackie- Ethel relationship in the end was probably better than Jackie's own relationship with her sister Lee in the end (they had a lot of animosity by the end of her life.) I think that its ironic-- as much as she probably did not like her in laws in the beginning, time, fame and country bonded her to them closer than to her family of origin (plus like I think her half sister died and her half brother told all to Kitty Kelley so there were those losses, too.) There was some book I read that Ethel was saying how much Jackie would have loved something after her memorial service but I forgot what it was.
