Those guys writing books can just sit on it. I was always under the impression that Joe Jr. was crushed at his brother's sudden upward motion. It seems it isn't so. Unless of course he cleverly masked his jealousy by appearing super-supportive. But I will say I enjoyed this letter, it's quite an insight into his mind that no book can give. Joe Jr. had wit and charm like Jack and wasn't nearly as vulgar as Jack was (from what is here anyway). Although his temper was a lot to handle at times, he surely cared for his younger brother.
