  • What is glandular fever of you have no glands?...... -- Maggie, 09:03:07 07/15/01 Sun [10] (NoHost/195.76.69.55)
    .....

....so, Jo (Ian's daughter who lives here and is a dancer) has suspected glandular fever, but has no tonsils, so it's hard to tell. Instead she has a tender liver and spleen, a sore throat (possibly pharyngitis) and a headache..... what do I do? I'm not her mum, and have no idea how to cope with this, even though I had it at her age (19).....eek! (as some would say!).

In other news....it's been so bloody quiet I don't know what to say. I've had many invitations to go back to teaching after two new graduates started at the British School here (I must admit I'm tempted) but don't know if it would be good for me in the long term......

So, in the absence of anything funky happening, I'll sign off..........

Anyone heard the latest single from The Alice Band? Sadly didn't get airplay in the UK, but a great feel-good Summer song. "One Day at a Time" - listen - it's great!

... Cuase I haven't posted one in aggesss....

Yeah! How is everyone doing? *chirpy cricket's in the silence that usually follows me* Stupid crickets. *kicks them*

lalala... I went to the Zoo the other day *lol* Ahh, I'm sucha damn kid. No, really, it was great. It's like the first time I've been out for ages, and it's fantastic to get out of these four walls, even if it knackers me up the next day...

*goes all kiddie* I saw the Giraffes! (... from a distance cause of "foot and mouth" and not being able to get near the hoffed animals...) But I saw them! *wanders around pondering a neck enlargement* I love giraffes, yes I do...

Possibly it was this love that made me "waste" £100 on two wooden ones ^______^ One is 5 foot, the other is 7. I think they were worth it... certainly gives people something to comment on when they walk into my room.

hmm... what a giraffey message, I'm off now to eat some of my dad's bday cake. Yum, chocolate... anyone else fancy a slice?

Wow! was going through some old stuff, letters etc. and came across some stuff about CBPPs and some of the peeps from it (Annie, Zzobe and so on)

My God, its been like over 5 years! Wow!

However, what is perhaps more amazing is the fact that this board still exists - its a bit of a relic! Granted it has only been used about two times in as many years.

Just thought I'd post for old times sake!

Hi!I'm Poxy, and me and my friend-The Sweet Cheese- have made up an eddie izzard inspired joke. wanna hear it?..................................................................................TOUGH!!!!!
Have u ever noticed at discos that the girls always dance in huge circles? its true! and theres always a group of guys at the edges trying to look inconspicuous, swaying along with the music, with their arm around a random girl theyv never even met b4? well we know their secret! hahahahaha! What the guys are really trying to do is get into the circle, that mystical, strange circle.
Slowly they try and break into the circle, communicating telepathicly with one another-
    "whats in the circle?"
    "i dont know-i cant see!"
"we must try and get to the middle of this magical circle..."
"im trying, but i keep getting elbowed in the face by the crazy girls!!!!!"
"are you in the circle yet?"
    "no,nearly, but i think i have a black eye!"
and then, slowly, slowly, ever so slowly, they struggle through the clusters of crazy girls, and they finally break into the middle of the cirle, and find.......................................................................................................................A PILE OF HANDBAGS!!!!!!!!

    It sounds funnier when spoken.Honest!!!
    hope ya like it!!!!! :-)

  • Eddie as Dr Who ? -- TED, 09:24:19 10/02/03 Thu [3] (ACBBD4C8.ipt.aol.com/172.187.212.200)
    IZZARD THE NEW DR WHO

Eddie Izzard is to be the new Dr Who, according to former Time Lord Tom Baker.

Baker named the cross-dressing comic as the star of the new BBC series which returns to TV screens in 2005.

BBC bosses have made no official comment about the identity of the actor who will play the role.

But in a radio interview, Baker claimed Izzard had landed the part.

Asked what the comic would bring to the role, he said: "He has an alien quality. Eddie Izzard is so mysterious and strange.

"He seems like he has lots of secrets. You always feel Eddie Izzard knows something you don't, or has been somewhere you haven't been."

He said he believed the transvestite actor and comedian would wear the Doctor's outfits with flair.

"I like the way he dresses. He could probably do his own wardrobe," said Baker, who played the role between 1974 and 1981.

I love the idea of this, Dr Who and the Return of hairnets from Azerbajan.

Ah... Got a job. Bloody hell. And... Oh god. Went for this job at the school Clare's Dad works at as a Learning Support Assistant (teaching assistant, or, if you want to be really 80's Mum helper. Except I am not a mum, but they're expanded the breif these days...) which I really don't think I can do. Somehow, tho, I have convinvinced the school that I can. And they are paying me. Possibly enough to move out. Into a box, or maybe a small rabbit hutch if we can find one with a balcony and a bathroom. But they are hard to find. Oh well, will trawl estate agents regardless. Caff- why do you like Wales? Did I teach you nothing? There are hardly any Welsh students at Universities throughout Wales and there is a reason for that. If you wish to admire the countryside and enjoy the scenery and the castles- visit! Go on holiday, then come back to somewhere where it's sunny and you get a proper TV reception and nobody is trying to broadcast Pobol Y Cwym at you. 'On ITV in England people who've tuned in for tonight's movie premiere will be watching it, here in HTV Wales, the Ferret'......

    Hullo!!!!

Wow - it's been a while.. how is everyone?

I was at a loose end this evening cos Jay is watching Goldfinger and i can't be a*sed!! (tho i do keep getting distracted!)

So, tons has happened to you lot then!! Like... Ben's getting married!!!! Wow honey i couldn't believe it when i read that -congratulations!!!! I hope it all goes well and that you have a wonderful married life together..!!

Well, i'm back in Wales (like a yoyo me!) in Carmarthen. Jay and i have our own house here and are really starting to get back on our feet again after possibly the biggest load of b*llocks we've had to face so far...
...now though Jay has a job with IBM, i start my new job (another one!!!) with a company in Swansea that has a good rep for promoting people if they're any good (so i'm going to be working my bum off to try to go upwards!!!!!)
We've just gotten another cat (that makes 4) called Smirnoff. She's 3 yrs old, black and white and very quirky (just like me!!) so she's fitting in well with us.

We went for our first "know your neighbours, love your neighbours" BBQ on the weekend and Jay's still recovering today (too much booze) ...the classic moment came when this scottish bloke called Phil sat there telling this drawn out ghost story (he was p*ssed as, so it was taking aaaaages & he kept starting over and we kept interupting him and taking the p*ss) suddenly he went REAL quiet and we thought we'd really annoyed him: "what's up Phil?" we pipe up......
.... "och, that's fookin' spooki, i've got bloody cramp in both legs!!!!"
tee hee!!!! we nearly wee'd ourselves we were all laughing so much - & i embarrised myself completely by snorting very loudly -cringe!!!

Anyway, i dunno what possessed me to tell you that particular little story, but there's that then...

I hope that you are all well and happy and that people still come here - i got here thru Jasmine's site..-wow she's so good at it, it looks REAL professional!!!

Right then, bath and bed for me - ta ra!

    *SHAZAM!!!*

I need to send her an actual letter, of the sort people used to send all the time back in the 20th Century. Good old lame line from many a third rate sci-fi, as Wolf will no doubt be aware. Oh, and Red Dwarf as well. Sounds a bit silly now, of course. But there it is. I tried phoning her but she's never bloody in! Ta. Bye.

So er... how can I put this? I'm getting married on the 13th of September. It is not advisable to try and organise a wedding with only four months notice. Or is it five? Bad idea either way, better to have it all planned so that when you meet the right person, you're all set to go. And why is it Clare doesn't even say 'why do you ask?' when I tell her I need a Beatles lyric with a wedding reference in it? She just suggests Elanour Rigby. Right spelling? Ah well. Just so you know and everything. Hope you are all well. Bye

What? Ahh. Um. Hello. Haven't been in for a while. Trying to remember last things I posted. Can't. Um. Got job at Mum's school because the Lab Technician there was very ill. Science not really my thing. Don't understand children. I don't want to be one of those people who doesn't understand children, but what can you do? There aren't any courses or anything. Anyway that finished in January when the last Technician retired and they replaced her with a new one who knows about science. So now I am back on the streets (figuratively).
Word of advice- do not work for a charity. Especially not Barnardos, they are bastards. Which is ironic when you think long and hard about it. Ho hum. They made Clare redundant just after she had returned from ten months off work with an unjury that was their fault. So we are unemployed together, which is a fun bounding exercise. Can't get my printer to print in black so I have been sending out CV's in dark blue, which seems to be working. My sodding laptop of back and forth to repair people all the time, so I have nobody's postal addresses, but I will write letters soon, so if anyone has moved can they please let me know or they may never hear from me again. I exaggerate, obviously. As soon as a we are making money, we are going to look for somewhere to live because they box is starting to get rising damp and the rent has gone up to a mug of dirt a week and we don't have time to collect that much dirt because we are very busy chasing daisies. Sorry I haven't been here for a while. It's honestly not as if I've been busy, or too busy. I do spend a lot of time at Clare's house (avoiding parental complaints that I haven't found a job yet) and she doesn't have the internet. But that is poor. Sorry. See you all (in a geeky, cyber way) soon. Bye.

    Stop the Wasp.

    ...a 'Circle' tour video....

on the second day of Christmas i took it back and got it changed, cos sadly it was crap..!

*shocked* oh my goodness what's happened...? Did anyone get to see this tour live? Was it as bad as it came across on the video?
The French bit was fantastic, so impressive and showed loads of talent. (Loved the trousers too!) It was a bit of a shame it was poorly cut together -but it did say it was a "Raw Cut" so i assume that's why it was a bit choppy. but apart from that : TOP COMEDY!!

So, anyone know what went on with this tour?
Seemed to be old material (as usual these days) mixed together with a couple of new ideas - for example the 'dinosaur in a saloon bar' bit that he did borrowed greatly from the 'dogs in a saloon bar' that he did first in the 'Unrepeatable' tour...
Was this video made at the beginning of the tour?

I'm not trying to 'get at Eddie' cos it must be very tiring being in films and doing TV and talking about Europe a lot and doing funny stuff and travelling etc, i'm just curious to know if there was a reason why this video appeared so flat and ...poo!

    Love and Hugs,
    Caffi..xx

Yuletide greetings to all. Its that time of year again, the shops are full of tat and screaming kids, the homes are full of tinsel and fire hazards. Time to throw another orphan on the fire and and wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS! or if you're Jewish... HAPPY HANUKA!
Or if you're pagan YULETIDE YIPPEE! Or something.
I'm still back in the arse end of Gloucestershire. Working at the local school looking after 300+ computers and surviving on a day to day basis...
Monday I'm off to Merry Olde London to spend Christmas with friends and then off to New York, New York for New Years to see my Girlfriend...
(But shhh! its a secret, so don't tell the children!)
So its going to be all a bit busy between now and then and at various times after that. Have a good holiday season folks.

    ....... hmm.........

Hello everyone! Lots happening in Tenergrief at present. Crohn's is settling down after a little scare in September when they found 'a lump' which turned out to be nothing more than an inflamed intestine. So, good news there then. bad news when I got home from the hospital - we'd been burgled. Lost my laptop, cameras and jewellery. Police are just So nice (not). They thought we were on an insurance scam. Ooh, and before that we were evacuated from our apartment due to a 'structural' fault which still isn't sorted. As owners we have had to pay about three grand so far which they reckon we will be able to claim back towards the end of the century (didn't say which century though). So it's been fun and frolicks at this end, and I am only online at work at present.... boo hoo......

Wolf - my brother's fiancee is expecting again (just found out it's a girl, so I'll finally be an auntie after two outings as an uncle!) Due one year and two weeks after their second.

Tenerife is gloomy and cloudy today (thought that might cheer some of you up).

Ben - got a job yet, or are you on the verge of setting yourself up as an independent jam supplier?

Gina - Hope you are well and happy

Well.... i've found you all again, seems a shame that the board has gone from something spectacular, to being quite desserted most of the time, we had some good tiems didn't we?.... anyway, enough of that...
I'm back off to college on Friday to finish my a-levels, after much begging of the college to let me back.
Still performing, more than ever now, just done first principal role which was GREAT!!!!
For all those who knew what my family was like, i'd just like to say that my parents have now split and my mum has moved out, which means i'm living with dad, and not enjoying it!!!!
Anyway... i know that i left before in a rather mixed up way, i just want to say sorry to everyone, especially Annie and Ben, i still love ya all a lot, and would love to get back in contact, please, please, please feel free to email me any time and maybe we can go back to all the mad 3 hour long phone calls (or maybe not... can't afford em anymore!!!!) but you know what i mean...
I think i've rambled on for quite long enough now...

Aaarrggghh hello. Um... Well, been busyish last coupla months. But I did find time to get an Upper Second Class degree in History and Philosophy. Unsurprisingly, I am now unemployed. However you can now see my website at www.nazihistory4students.org.uk (I think) and I am writing a ghost story for Knebworth house (local stately home and only railway station on peterborough line to have avoided serious train crash) which they may use in some Haloween thing. Other than that I try to find work, pick blackberries (have fucking loads of Jam) and um.... not sure what else fills my time, but it seems to pass. Have a Christening to go to on Sunday. If my cousin has a daughter-does anyone know how we are related? I don't. I scacerly matters, she's only about two and half anyway. Er... bye

hello all you wonderful peeps.....not sure if any of you remember me?????? I was one of the "new comers" on the old Izzard board who would pop into your bees board after it was created (I remember Gina and a few others getting a bit upset with all the senseless chatter....kind of like what I'm doing now..LOL....and deciding to created a separate board)

anyway after a very long absence, I thought I would go looking for old friends and see who is still around. Just in looking at this baord it seems like it itsn't used a lot, at least compared to what I remember. but I see a lot of familar names.....I hope you all are doing well (congrats, to Ben...even if itis a bit late)....and big *HUGS* to everyone!!

Here's a thing that occured to me last night. Isn't it weird how, on the one hand people in this country generally regard immigration and immigrants as bad, and on the other hand anyone from another European country who announces anti-immigration policies is instantly labelled 'extreme right wing' and virtually branded with a Swastika.
Anyway, on the bright side, the good news is that I've had my last lecture ever. On top of which I handed in another essay today, so now it's just two more essays, a 1,000 word report, a website and four exams to go. But three weeks today I'll never have to do an exam again as long as I live. On the other hand I'm getting a bit panicky about my deadlines. Which begs the question 'why I am I wasting my time here when I should be working?' Good question. I have no idea. Er... bye.

    Hello all!
Thought I'd drop by and say, er, Hello All!
Er, where to begin, Got over drinking problem...
Still drink, but not in a 'bottle of whisky at a time' sense...
Survived Christmas with a laugh, a cheer, and a healthy dose of Midgets (did anyone else see the fantasy island re-runs on sci-fi? WTF?), and some really good friends in London who took pity upon this poor country boy...
So yay. Coming to the end of my time with the therapist... which is just as well, cause, full time employment looms... huzzah!
Went to LA for the usual old business, had a great time, met some great people, drank wine all day by the pool... its a hard life really...
Actually the LA/SF trip really picked me up, and left me with a very positive outlook on life, one I'm now trying to carry with me...
This past few weeks has given me time to reflect upon the last few years of my life, a time of change and decision making... Some of which i regret, others... others I really regret. But I figure, for all the pain thats been inflicted, at the end of it, for better or worse, here I am...
Livin it medium, back in the rural arse end of nowhere...
Looking to move to San Jose and the Bay area for study/work and general nice weather... But, that is at least a year away, depending upon the cooperation of the US Gov't...
I also worked out that the starting point for the changes in my life was the Izzardites. which is kinda scary.
The intial gathering started a period of time where i would visit london more and more frequently... and... ok, we all know where that went, but I digress. But the fact is it put me in a position where i made contacts, new friends, friends in high and low places, and generally speaking, entered a period of time where i could really lay claim to a social life. Huzzah...
So, to all of you who were there from the beginning, and i *know* some of you were there, thanks! and er, Hello!
    So... er... yeah...
I got my interview tomorrow... so I need to do normal things, like, iron shirts... and, bait Ottars...
    the usual..

    Peace out homeys.

    Ash

There's some quote in the Radio Times about how hard it is for a standup to do straight acting, and yet quite easy the other way round ... and that he might have to "give up the stand-up". Like, hello, hasn't that happened already???!!! Still enough of my bitchy opinion ...

i'm now officially a "medical secretary/receptionist" and i get to do all sorts of clevah doctors surgery type stuff... it's cool as chips! i've had a week of training and i'm due another one next week and i was in work this morning-and it's a saturday and everything! (see me be an eager beaver!! *smiles*)

the ladies that already work there are luverly... a bit older than me (i'm the youngest by a couple of decades! *oops!!*) but they're looking after me and mothering me.. -which is nice!! (stops me missing my Mum so much now that i'm officially a grown up, and my Mum's a squillion miles away *sucks thumb and whimpers quietly*)

so YAY!!! ...i just thought i'd come and tell you all... cos i'm very proud of myself getting the job *puffs out chest in a proud way* -there was lots of stiff competition and it's a very busy and important job, and i'm a bit young in the post (normally they recruit much older people.. but my references were very good-apparently..) and possibly i have been known to be a bit ditsy in the past..... so *eeeks!*

    anyway...

Stump's you should come to my surgery, i'd squeeze you in to see the doctor straight away -promise!!! i hope you feel better soonest honeybee... if you fancy a chat, email me.. i'm starting to get a little more reliable with emailing again...!! and i'd love to hear from you!!!!!!!! xxxxxx

....... with pooh on my head.

Hope all is exceedingly well (like those Mr. Kipling cakes - never cared for them meself, but .....) with everyone in CiBPP land.

Not much going on here really. Quite bored except for the "urgent" visits to the hospital in the past few days (nothing too serious, as my next "urgent" appointment is in three weeks' time), and Ian nearly being a diving instructor now - which has meant I even do the weekend cleans at home. He has to take a couple of lessons soon, and wants to employ a flip chart (how much do they charge?). I am supposed to be helping him with this (teacher skills, he muttered at one point) and am sorely tempted to insert a picture of mice, horses and pots of glue........

Carnaval was a distinct washout this year - been and gone in three days, no less (no more either).

Enough, she cried, while reaching for the remote control to catch up on Weakest Link from 2, yes TWO years ago (bloody BBC Prime!).

God, what a terrible year it's been. First George Harrison, then John Thaw, now Spike Milligan. The last surviving Goon has gone, taking with him the most substantial creative force in 20th Century Comedy. Although it's probably true that, towards the end of his career, he was somewhat past his best, he was still an admirable man with the courage of his convictions, and a comic genius without equal.

WOO-HOO! The last time I was online way back when this messageboard was no-more...or so I thought. When did the board come back to life? How is everyone? What are you guys upto? I'm good, happy and high on life. I've been absent from the net all together for quite some time. My computer is dead and has been for going on a year. I was also in the hospital...I accidently inhaled some shtuff that you're not supposed to inhale...to make a long story short, but I've been kinda sick since then (not life threatening) and no one is exactly sure what it is. I'm not complaining or anything, just letting you guys know why I wasn't around. What's going on in the world of Mr. Izz and Covered In Bees as the Moon? I can't wait for Circle to come out on DVD and remember if you're watching Circle and Eddie just happens to say, "Good scream!" That was me, I was the good screamer. I'm still in college, but I graduate in 2 months. I've got an internship doing digital compositing and special effects for a small independent studio. I'm directing my first movie right now. We start shooting in a few weeks and I'm really excited. It's called SANCTUS FECES and it's spoofing Romeo + Juliet, the X-Files, Fight Club, Gladiator, Spartacus, the Neverending Story, Lord of the Rings, Superman and Snatch. I'm starring in it too...as the lead character. I'm totally hyped about this. If anyone wants to know more about it, just e-mail me. I'm really interested to hear what's going on with everyone else. I feel like I've been gone forever. Darryn, as for you, I've definitley been thinking of you...a lot. Drop me a line sometime.

Isn't it strange how ever since September the 11th President Bush has been ranting that 'It's War!' and yet when they take prisoners in this 'war' they aren't prisoners of war? How the hell does that work? If it's a war, and you take prisoners, they must be prisoners of war, and if it isn't a war then what the Americans have done is just barge into someone else's country and snatched a load of people they don't like, which must be a contravention of the Geneva convention at some point. Ho Hum.

Some people are just no respectors of tradition are they? Does anyone know when we are due our next leap year? Because, as you probably know, tradition states that on the 29th of february (which only occurs once every four years, of course) women can propose to men, should they so wish. Why this rule was invented, I have no idea, perhaps it was devised by desperate men in order to chivy women into panic proposing on much the same basis as those blokes who are employed to proclaim 'sale must end saturday!'. Perhaps not. Anyway Clare gets confused easily so she asked me to marry her today instead. I said yes. It seemed the reasonable thing to do, given that she spent all yesterday fixing my t-shirts for me. If Caff's brain is anything to go by (God forbid) apparently people didn't know Clare existed. Well all I can say us that I posted a message and if nobody read well then that's probably because I wrote it in Greek, but then if you people can't read Greek then that's hardly my fault is it? The trouble with being engaged is that I do hate the word Fiance. It's a horrible word and I have a dark suspicion that it expects some form of accent. Maybe Mexican. Oh well. That's my news. I'm off into Cardiff to test the limits of their shopping centres on my birthday money, and maybe buy a ring. Or perhaps one each, any thoughts?

    Bye

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! i'mveryveryscarednow! ...i just felt like i was being watched and as i'm in an empty house this spooked me somewhat.. so i looked up from the computer to see my big cat sitting staring at me, unblinking and non-moving... aaaah!! *hideaway*

Anyhoo.... for those of you who emailed me about my Kitties before Xmas, the kitty that had cat-flu is much better now, she's still a bit snuffly (3months later!!) but she's now putting on weight like the others and looking very fluffy and pretty -so thanks for the advice!!!

    anyway... i'd better go..

still thinking of you all loads... hoping that you're all well, and having fun!!

    LOVE AND HUGS

AND *HAPPY VALENTINES DAY* FOR THURSDAY!!

    Love
    Chris/Caff xxxxxx

Well hello there and welcome back to Wales. As with the rest of the country, the weather here is shit with a capital SHI. Still at least I'm beginning my last ever semester. I rented The Man in the Moon last night, anyone else seen it? I thought it was a great film but I was rather confused by the ending. Perhaps anyone who has seen this film will understand why and can explain for me. Perhaps not. Also, does anyone remember Andy Kauffman when he was alive? I don't actually know when he died, so I've really no idea. Um. I don't think I have anything else to say really. Nope, can't think of anything. Er... Bye then

  • back from the other side of the world and would rather be there... -- fi, 09:18:30 01/15/02 Tue [5] (pineapple.ulcc.wwwcache.ja.net/194.82.103.43)
finally back in grey oxford, after a month in beautiful new zealand. I don't think I've ever been so happy as I have over the last few weeks. But alas, all good things have to end eventually, and the misery of my homecoming was enhanced by being delayed 30 hours, and having to spend ten of them sitting in LA airport on my own.

not sure when my lovely will be able to get back here, he has no money and no job, a criminal record and most importantly no hope of getting a visa. so for the moment we'll live in uncertainty. I've had long distance relationships before, but ten thousand miles is really pushing it a bit. any suggestions for a magical way of getting UK work permits?

So this year is going to be mega productive, i'm going to work so hard and hopefully get a degree after the last three years of slacking, and maybe even a job. Out of ten applications so far I've had one interview (then rejection) and seven straight standard rejection letters. 'We wish you every success in your future career' etc. yeah, right.

the board's been v v quiet lately, what's everyone up to? I know you're all there, you're just hiding in the shadows. Huge love and hugs to mark, we're all thinking of you babe. Gina, we must catch up soon, sorry I'm so crap at getting in touch. Gimme a ring and we'll go out for caffeine/alcohol/grub or just come up and see me sometime (I live above the St Anne's bar, just ask anyone in there where my room is).

Happy new year to everyone, I hope it brings you all what you wish for

    *hugs* fi xx
