This area is where mom & dad met. The Biniahans are very close to my parents. I had thought of bringing my parents back to this area for a visit but dad passed away too soon. Ricky Wed, Jul 01 2009 msg read: I took a trip to Baguio and from there I took a bus passing through Nueva Ecija and Nueva Vizcaya. Left around 8pm and arrived at Banaue around 5am. Slept through the trp. (NT) --  , Wed, Jul 01 2009 Thank you Ricky. Must be nice to go on a solo flight. I heard about that route going to the Rice Terraces. Somebody told me it is faster from that side but it is less scenic than the windy Halsema highway route. Good to know that it takes 9 hours to get there. It makes sense to travel at night if that is how long it takes to get there. Halsema could be a better route though if you want to take time to sight see and if you plan to stop by at Sagada. The highway is actually being rehabilitated. Hopefully the road improvements being done to the highway would shorten the travel time between Baguio and Banaue. (NT) -- lv, Thu, Jul 02 2009 Yeah I remember those days too, mang Ron. Imagine how hard it was to dig trenches and lay down water pipes by Kennon Road. Tang Luis was then the mayor and two of the engineers of this big Nawasa project were from Tagudin too. They were engineer Lamorena and Pagaduan. Remember those winding rivers beneath hanging bridges we walk back and forth and ocassionally saw those US military servicemen inside their special services car climbing their way up Kennon Road for R & R in John Hay. We've been praying, wishing and hoping then that someday we will have that chance and be just like them. Isn't it that we were there laboring in Baguio when somebody told you that you have your call card to take your exam in the USN? Lucky you and me, mang Ron, here we are now retired and fishing. We thank God for the blessings. I remember were paid P8.00 a day for our labor then. I vividly remember those hard times too, buddy. Yeah I remember them well, especially carrying a bag of cement, gravel, sand climbing up hill and watching those military plane above coming to a landing at Camp John Hay.
