It should not that that surprise that a person living in Canada or Dubai still want to buy a plot in Malir or Mehran Town. Not everone living in Canada etc so rich to shift to Defence or Bath Island. The second thing is most of the persons who put enquiries in fact do not have any real idea what was Mehran Town or where it is situated. They just wanted to buy a property.

The advice that buy it from a private party is good but be careful 95% private sellings will have a hidden trouble. Before buying a plot/flat or a house from a private party first select the property, agree to a price but before getting it practically paid for, get through an official manner in writing, not verbally through visit etc or through agent, from the concerned authority eg Karachi Development Authority in whose name the said property stands, is it mortgaged, is any court case standing on it. It is easy but needs just say a Rs. 2000 to Rs. 4000 expense. Where you want to buy it as Rs. 50 lacs this is a small amount.

Be careful before buying a flat or plot from developers. Read their agreement form carefully. It has many hidden terms in small fine print which not even 98% educated people can read properly.
