You are living in US/Canada and are asking for a residential plot in MTA! I am sure your enquiry is about Malir Development Authority (MDA) Karachi and not about Multan Development Authority (MDA).

My confusion is because people living in Canada or US are hardly known ever been settling back in areas likeMalir Landhi etc. I do appreciate motherland sentisments and mental attachment to the parental place of residence or places where one spends his childhood nevertheless it is also a fact in today’s life materialism has too affected the society. Where becoming a little rich one immediately shifts to better localities there my confusion that a Cana/USA return would not like to re-settle in poor areas like Malir Landhi etc should not be any strange.

However coming to the point, Malir Development Authority (MDA) has no new housing scheme. The fact is since its establishment MDA has not been successful in this field. Its main new housing scheme came under dispute as the army claimed some portion of its new scheme belonged to it. The Sindh Ombudsman ordered that allottees should be refunded their monies. There was also an allegation that consultants were paid heavily pre-handed. Hence in this area you can buy a plot or house from any private party.

The best is if you take a plot or house in the Cantonment area which is adjoining to Model Colony (Malir). As our cantonments are, this is a very clean, envoirnamently fine, law and order very fine area and a real peaceful area.

Alternatively you can select buying a similar plot in growing Hawksbay Area either form any private party or from Lyrai Development Authority (LDA).

People having money like residents of US/Canada are madly purchasing in Defence Housing society area where prices of plots have gone to sky. These are not the real prices but manipulated by land mafia and are one day definitely to come down drastically. At the moment it is good buying plots in such area only for those who purchase today, sell it tomorrow on premium and day after tomorrow buy a new one to keep this circle. In this there is enough money but people like you who are settled abroad and can not purchase sell and repurchase daily it is I think risky.

If you decide to buy a house or plot from a third party, be careful first to ascertain in writing that property is free of any incumbersomes. Be careful. Do not trust any one namely any agent, your family verbal advice that seller needs money hence he is selling cheap. No first check in writing if seller is genuine, he has not made any other agreement for sell to anyone else etc etc.
