I'm going to guess Edward is getting killed off and Alan will return, but recast. I think I remember something about Alan returning but fans may not like how he returns. To me, that makes sense that it would be a recast.

ooh... that's a good idea. Maybe Alexis will be killed off and he'll have to return for Molly... although I have to admit, even though it's terrible to say, I wish they'd kill off Molly. She annoys me like no other - fingernails on a chalkboard for me. I'm a huge Ric Hearst fan so it would be hard for me to see someone else as Rick -- especially if this Rick was allowed to be more than a pathetic foil to Sonny. I'm definitely excited to see what will unfold, regardless of what it may be.
