I agree that GH is consistently the best of the three shows, though I love OLTL. GH has a great casting director, and they rarely hire weak talent. (Note: I said rarely, not never.) So does OLTL. Unfortunately, AMC has hired weak actors for years. Only recently have they changed their hiring procedures, as evidenced by the great cast they now have.

That said, AMC's fix is simple: longer story arcs based around people we care about, happy stories mixed in with the bad, use of strong actors, and Dixie. Too many people left the show when she did - we don't trust AMC anymore.

I wonder if TPTB will ever catch on that one reason GH does so well is because they actually put money and effort into its production, and therefore they are (at least partially) just seeing a return on their investment...
