Subject: Update For Non-Facebook Users!

Hey Gang,



Just a quick note for all my non-Facebook users out there (we've been discussing this more over on my FB page).

We may hear something this week. I wanted to let you know that I spoke to a representative who said that ABC has been literally overwhelmed by all the calls, letters, and e-mails they have been receiving! They cannot believe the volume! The person I spoke to indicated that they have never seen anything quite like it in all the years they have worked at ABC.

Let us hope that the network has come to their collective senses, and realizes what a disastrous decision this would be. They have been getting a lot of the word "boycott" which makes them nervous.

It was easy to laugh me off. It was easy to laugh Daytime Confidential off. It was easy to laugh Deadline off, but they could not laugh off Michael Logan from TV Guide (they stopped laughing then). Things were leaked badly here (and Michael Logan and Deadline have their own sources). I am not sure ABC will be completely honest with us (if past experience is any indication), but let us hope that we get the announcement we are praying for.

All we want is for our shows to continue. We will boycott whatever shows are put in place of the ones we have loyally watched for years. I hope that some of my readers are sponsors. If you are, please note that we will not be watching, and your commercials will not be seen by us. We will miss you, as I am sure you will miss us.

Let us hope that ABC makes the right decision....

We should know any time now.....

Tweets aren't going to cut it. We need official confirmation, which is long overdue!

Thanks Raven! And you are so right. Once the soaps are done at ABCD...so is my little group of OLTL watchers. Too bad so sad! And me and my pals are in the coveted demo with discretionary income. Just sayin' Frons and Sweeney can stuff it.

Thanks Raven! I certainly hope that they hear us. I completely miss GL and don't even consider watching anything on CBS daytime since they took it off the air...In fact I barely watch CBS at all these days. I really hope that ABC does not do the same thing by taking off OLTL, which is simply the best soap on the air right now!

I'm glad I checked in here. Thank you for always being honest with us. I like that you don't pull any punches, and are straight with us. I think we came very close here. This was a wake up call that nobody should ignore. We need to keep on ABC even after the announcement comes. I think people like you actually helped to save our shows. You guys caused a panic that led to a huge outcry, and we will always be grateful. I loved seeing Catherine Hickland on your facebook wall! How cool is that! I have always loved her too! You have so many supporters out there for a reason. You keep being who you are and never lose sight of that. You have been knocking them out of the park lately, one after another! We love you! I hope you know that! You seriously rock!!

Not out of the woods by a long shot. Expect the announcement to be a load of garbage. Don't buy it Raven. They are just trying to find the right replacements. Logan knew what he was talking about. Don't be one of the sheep. You have never been one before. It's what I like about you. The sheep have no idea what is coming. Ignore the announcement. It's damage control for NOW. I don't think they're out of the woods. In Logan's piece he stated that Frons had 2 shows ready to go. This means to me that 2 pilots were successful and are set to replace AMC and OLTL. The pilots that weren't were thrown out a while ago and bare no impact on the current situation.

As for ABC hearing from fans that's great. But if I was ABC it would only have some impact. Even after cancellation rumors started and fans starting letting their voices be heard AMC STILL was at the bottom of the ratings. Ties a record low too in a key demo. OLTL moved up and was 3rd. That would tell me what show would be saved if one was to be.

Your post makes the most sense. ABC can feign surprise re fan feedback, but if the "announcement" is not cancellation, I still would not relax. Any positive decision is merely a temporary reprieve, the proverbial finger in the dyke.

As for boycotting the sponsors, I never watch the soaps live, always on tape etc, specifically to avoid the ads. I doubt I've ever bought a product because of amc/oltl.

I think what she means by boycotting is that we won't be watching the replacement shows. We won't be programming our DVR for those time slots anymore. We won't see the new
shows or their commercials.

The boycott isn't the sponsor's products (ABC doesn't care if we buy them or not, only if they buy ad time), it is a boycott of ABC all together... Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, Dancing with the Stars, Desperate Housewives, GMA, The View, etc.

If ANY ABC soap is cancelled, I will boycott everything else on ABC except the remaining soaps. Grey's Anatomy comes off the Tivo, as will the Wednesday sitcoms, no local news from the ABC affiliate, no GMA in the morning, and so on.

I'll miss the nighttime shows, but I'll watch something else.

ABC will only be on, if a soap is on!

Im with ya! I will boycott ALL ABC programming. I have watched ABC exclusively for over 25 years. I will find something else to watch on one of the other stations. Maybe we should all write to Oprah and see if she wants to bring AMC and OLTL to her network!

Oh my God, Raven . . . I was just on EW's website and they just a moment ago put up a headline that said "ABC cancels All My Children and One Live To Live, replaces soaps with lifestyle shows". I think it's over :(

With OLTL canceled, there's nothing left I care about on ABC. As soon as the last episode has aired, I will be deleting ABC from my television and VCR menu. To Hades with the lot of them.

So TMZ is saying AMC & OLTL are canceled? I can't load soapcentral (which means it is probably true and their server is overloaded) and I can't see FB @ work... so yeah -- crazy -- is this confirmed?

Raven I cannot believe both shows were canceled at the same time but rather than vent (cause I would be here fore days) I wanted to ask you if there was any chance another network would pick up one or both of these shows. There has to be a network who would find AMC and OLTL ratings/viewers an upgrade to what they currently have and if it happened it would be bittersweet for these 2 soaps to draw more viewers than the ridiculous sows Brian Frons has slotted in!!!!! What do you think???

I am so sorry you were treated so unfairly for telling us the truth. I know this has been even harder for you than anyobody else for that reason. I had a feeling you were right. I'm so sorry. :(

I tried to warn you because I knew you would blindsided otherwise. I was roasted over an open fire for it. I didn't back down for a reason. I hated what I saw them doing. I feel like I have lost my best friend today. What a time for me to come back. I've had a good cry here today. I know how you feel. This is devastating. It's just unreal. It was unreal when I first heard it. To say that I hate ABC would be an understatement because I find their level of greed sickening.

In my next column, I am going ask that we start an Oprah campaign with the same amount of letters and e-mails to see if she might not consider bringing these shows to her new network. Oprah loves our shows and she has the capital. I don't know if she would be willing to do it or if it's even feasible, but it's worth a try.

Not feeling very witty today so I'm outta here.

I am heartbroken.

Great minds...I had already tweeted Oprah asking her to take OLTL to OWN.
I am devestated especially over OLTL. It is so Good...I can't help but wonder ,if the news would be easier to take if it was a bad show. It is my favorite ABC show.

Once the official announcement is made, the chances of fans saving a show drop dramatically but it can still be done and we shouldn't let them go down without a fight. The Oprah idea's a good one...it might also be a good idea to ask her network to buy one of the replacement shows instead and keep the soaps on ABC!

What we need to do now is in addition to writing ABC, we need to totally get on the sponcers. Make note of who's sponcering your fave show (be it AMC or OLTL - i'm on Team OLTL myself) and write to each one (national and local) thanking them for sponcering your show but also letting them know that if they sponcer the replacement show, you will be boycotting them. If you learn of any other potential sponcers of the replacements, write them "don't do it" letters as well.

Raven, I have never doubted a word that you wrote for a second. I was sad to hear the news today, and I tried to start a thread at SOC asking if you deserved an apology for the way you were treated and that you had told us this was coming all along, and they deleted the post 2 seconds after I wrote it. So F them! Raven, thank you for all your posts, I looked forward to seeing your name on the net, cause I knew I was going to get some juicy gossip. I am not surprised. Mine were erased today too. Raven has scooped them on many things lately. They look like fools right now after reassuring everybody that people like Raven were crazy for scaring them. One of the mods over there called Michael Logan's article an April Fool’s Day joke! I saw it for myself in the Todd thread at the top of the OLTL board! Every person is a charlatan but them. Every time an exit is announced that Raven scooped, the thread miraculously disappears, and suddenly an SOC article appears in its place. They redirect the link to their newly written article. Everybody is scooping them these days. So much for all their so-called connections. They get nothing anymore. I began to see who they really are when we were not even allowed to say goodbye to Raven over there! The woman donated years of her time to them, and every thread thanking her was erased. They do not have an ounce of class (and that nasty, crazy, piece of work ForeverInRio owes Raven the biggest apology of all)!

They allowed Raven to be raked over the coals for months here lately (and even when she was working there)! After this latest crap, I am done with them. I no longer see them as even remotely reliable. Good riddance!

Glad to see people apologize to you being the messenger Raven, still confused and baffled. If ratings were such an issue with ABC did they factor in SoapNet viewership? Since SoapNet ends in January, wouldn't if be feasible to wait to see if. Ratings went up after network went off the air? A view show called the Chew a talk show with Chefs come on now. I am pissed that Kimberly Locke is going to have a weight loss show in place One Life. I know she messed around with Married Harvey from celebrity fit club on VH1, he left wife and four children to be with her. How in the hell fat ass Mario Batali with his clog wearing ass going host a talk show with giggles the pork loving Chef Michael Symon. Not to mention Carla the two time loser who is really ditzy and dizzy contestant of Top Chef Masters. I digress Raven my heart is breaking. I watch One Life More but I was born the same year as AMC and I am so sad. I just wish they would take SoapNet off the air now so we can really tell What the ratings truly are.

Raven, thank you for being the bearer of bad news--it wasn't easy, but you didn't want us to be in for such a rude awakening. And I truly appreciate it. I feel so sad today, that two shows that were once such a part of my life are gone. I really hope that they will end with dignity and grace, and be true to the characters! You have to actually contact the sponsers of the show and let them know that you will not use their products unless your favorite soaps stay on the air. When the soaps are on, that is about the only time I really pay attention to the ads anyway.

It's not your fault Raven. Thanks for everything. Since they are going to take our shows off the air and replacing them with shows that I do not want to watch. When One Life to Live goes off the air I am not going to turn on ABC anymore.
