Just announced on KABC 11am newscast here in LA both OLTL and AMC cancelled. Raven you are right again

This is so so very sad. Not only are we losing our beloved daytime shows there are now even more people out of work!!
Yes Raven was right,she usually is,but I'm devasted. I know that may sound silly to some but losing these shows are like losing family members or part of myself.

That is EXACTLY how I feel. out of all my friends that I have talked to about this,they all think I am over reacting. I grew up with these charactors!I have been watching since I was about 13 & I am 43 now.I am broken hearted.

ABC really does not care about their viewers. I will be tuning out once OLTL is over as it is the only thing I currntly watch on a regular basis!!

I used to watch GH as a kid, and have been addicted to AMC since I was a teen. I will never watch GH again. I will be taking my token demographic self over to DAYS. (I don't mind Y&R, but hate B&B)

Such a depressing day.

If we can't save AMC and OLTL, then we might as well wean ourselves off GH now and get it over with. NO soap is safe. The networks think only "housewives" watch these shows and, even though it is the still the lady of the house who controls the spending dollars, they don't think we matter. Let's show them that we do. No ABC, No Disney, No ESPN. Let start calling !

I know you guys feel awful, but boycotting GH is only going to put a lot more people in your shoes. I happen to watch all 3 ABC soaps and I am devastated over the loss of AMC and OLTL but I hope you all can give GH a chance so that people like me don't have to lose EVERY show they love. Our only hope is that the fans of these lost shows will bring their ratings to the 4 soaps that are left. If the networks see a resurgence in the ratings, then at least the entire genre of soap operas won't be lost. Don't be so selfish and only think about what you are losing. How about trying to help out those who still have more to lose? Give GH a chance. Don't boycott it or you are just giving ABC a reason to get rid of soaps completely.

Please don't worry JLC. I have already had an actor or two contact me from GH. I am cautioning my readers at Facebook to not boycott GH. That this will sign their death certificate. My Facebook page has become flooded, but it's down below. I will address this fully in my column due out next week. I will be asking people to actually start tuning in to watch GH even if they haven't for a long time just to help save the show. We will boycott all other programming, but not GH.

Agree fully with RB - CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES WISELY - do NOT boycott AMC, OLTL, or GH - these are the GOOD GUYS; these are the VICTIMS. Do not bring them down where they are on our team!

This is one of the reasons why http://community.webtv.net/dw_m/saveoltl exists - so everyone's on the same page in regards to "do's and don't's". Any negative action directed towards any of the ABC soaps is a Huge Don't! Save that towards the rest of ABC/Disney including and especially OLTL/AMC's replacement shows and their potential sponsors.

Yes, i'm repeating myself but after a post like this it has to be said...

no offense, but GH is only on borrowed time as well...I don't watch the show and never will. I will not tell others to stop watching, but I will not start watching either. Personally from what I have seen of it the show is simply overrated. I am disapointed that Frans and Co would kill a show that actually makes money for it. OLTL is the best ABC show...such a shame that it is going off the air.

I agree 100% with Raven Beauty, we need to watch GH, AMC and OLTL and boycott everything else on ABC/Disney. We should be telling our friends to watch.

Raven, is there any way we can find out the weekly ratings for the View? I have only seen them when Frons issues a PR and when ratings are not great he does not issue one.

I'm very sad and disappointed about the cancellation of OLTL and have no interest in the replacement shows for OLTL and AMC. However,in regards to GH, I've tried watching but have found it boring and inferior to OLTL so I won't be actually boycotting GH but it's not a show I want or plan to watch. I don't know if I want to start watching any other soaps on NBC or CBS. Sadly,after many years this may be the time to give up soaps altogether.

Not only will I not watch GH, but I am boycotting ALL of ABC Daytime. Everything from GMA till the evening news. I'll take my shopping dollars to networks who LISTEN to their viewers and appreciate them. In my opinion, GH will be on the air for another year - tops. And then it too, will be cancelled. For what...another talk show? A "reality" show that's so contrived and insulting that Gumby himself would turn off the set?

I was a loyal ABC viewer too. It's over, and that includes Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and Dancing with the Stars. I was also planning a Disney vacation. It's canceled. This is so ridiculous.

I know this is off the main topic on everyone's mind right now but is anyone else peeved that they are talking about remaking THE CROW? I understand it wasn't exactly an Academy Award winner but it IS one of THOSE films. One of those films that IS the actor. It's like remaking Rebel Without a Cause without James Dean. I can still see the People magazine cover with Brandon Lee's face on it in my mind. That movie is so much more than a script that can just be retooled or stuffed with new actors and a few tweaks -- so infuriated....

This is just so sickening. I feel so sorry for everyone involved w/these 2 shows. I hope people boycott the replacements, as it would be so satisfying to see the new shows tank.

Pretty soon I won't be watching anything on ABC as most of what I watch there is aging and will eventually be cancelled....Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Private practice, Brothers & Sisters. Don't watch much on any of the other network channels either, so I guess that will free up alot of time for other activities.

I know you wouldn't have chosen this Raven, but this will make your job a little easier, dont you think? I just hope YOU don't leave us too!!!!

Trust me. I'll wait. Seated? Okay, good.

The ratings for last week indicate that OLTL was ABC's top soap. Now is
that irony or what? (And by the way, considering what a stellar week of
episodes it was, that was well-deserved and i'm happy the quality was
recognized).

Here's the worst part though - it's not "just irony". ABC would have
seen these numbers BEFORE they made the official announcement about
OLTL's cancellation. And this didn't give them any kind of pause or
bought them any more time?!

I've said it before, i'll say it again, i'll say it as a practical
mantra: FRONS NEEDS TO BE BOTH FIRED AND BLACKLISTED FROM EVER WORKING
AGAIN IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY!
