Subject: Red Hot Spoilers, Rumors, News & More! Updated 2/2/11!

Hey Gang,

Something has gone awry with all the threads here, so I am reposting all of my recent columns again while Voy.Com tries to figure out what may have happened, and hopefully fix the error. It may take a while. Sorry that all of your original replies are gone, but hopefully everything will be restored shortly. I am putting out a copy for the people who may still want to access the older columns as well.

Get off those sleighs and surfboards and pull up a chair! It's that time again. Grab a hot latte and get comfortable as I throw a little soap your way this cold and snowy Wednesday afternoon.

Before I stopped writing my column over a year ago, I inadvertently started a bit of a panic when I implied that AMC was on the chopping block. I made friends everywhere with that one. I didn't pass this on to intentionally upset my readers. I passed this on because it was truly, what I was being told at the time. The source I had for AMC (who gave me many incredible casting exclusives over the years) made it quite clear that looks were deceiving when it came to AMC. She stated that although OLTL was most certainly in trouble, AMC might be the first to go. She went on to clarify that it was a crapshoot, with AMC as the surprising front-runner. My OLTL and GH sources are inclined to agree, which is why I brought this up in my column a couple of weeks ago (I hear that it's everywhere now, with many guessing as to which show I was referring to). It's a flip of the coin right now; however, AMC remains the front-runner. ABC figures they can save money, increase ratings as fans flock to the two remaining shows, and watch the ratings go up with more viewers per show (and with less expenditure). Please keep in mind that I am merely passing this on (I don't personally wish to see this happen in any way). As most of you know. I am a gossip columnist (not a newspaper or a web site that can only confirm what ABC will allow). I don't wait for confirmation. If I did that, there would be no gossip column. I would only be parroting what you can read in any number of magazines, or obtain at any web site out there. I report what I am hearing, and give you a heads up whether it comes to fruition or not. For me, it's not about being right or wrong. It's about passing on the backstage scuttle period. I am hearing the show in question has a year tops (as it is, they have already received one stay of execution). Remember, it's a flip of the coin at this point. Either could go, but certain situations at AMC, make them the more likely candidate.

I also wanted to take a moment and thank all of you who have made me feel so incredibly welcome at Facebook! All I can say is Wow! Over 500 friend requests in less than two weeks, and every one of you has been nothing short of lovely. You guys are amazing, and I am truly grateful for your love and support. A very heartfelt thank you going out to one of my favorite people in the "Land Of Lather and Suds,” Carol Banks from Soapzone. Thank you for your continued support my friend. You are truly a doll, and I love you for it! It's nice to know we are not a dying breed. It will be a sad day indeed when this genre is put to bed forever. I hope that day never arrives, but I know better.

I rarely do this, but I wanted to give major kudos to breakout star Chad Duell (Michael/GH) who had fans in tears this week with his gut wrenching performance, which was nothing short of brilliant. I was touched and astounded by the rawness and sheer genius of this young man’s work. For a moment there, I felt as if I were viewing a powerful documentary instead of a daytime soap. Enjoy him while you can. Something tells me this kid is onto bigger and better things. I have a feeling we will be hearing great things about Chad Duell in the future (an amazingly gifted young actor).

Gossip Column Disclaimer!

This disclaimer will appear each week. Please keep in mind that these are rumors, and any gossip or rumors found within, are completely unsubstantiated. I know this goes without saying for most of you, but there are many new readers out there as well. So far, my sources have been pretty darn good over the years, and I am truly grateful. It would be pointless to have a gossip column without gossip, so you will find both fact and unsubstantiated rumors within these walls. Also, please note that actors are contractually bound by gag orders. They are not allowed to reveal whether they are leaving or not, until the network gives them the green light to do so. Insisting that actors speak to rumors that involve their relationship with their respective shows, places them in a very awkward position. Please keep all of this in mind as you read my column (which will come out every other week). In addition, I can be wrong, and freely admit this. When my sources give me what they have, it's what they are hearing backstage at that moment in time. They are the first to admit that stories can be scrapped or rewritten, with casting decisions changing frequently. I respect their limitations, and so should you. Most of what I hear are very early rumblings, but I will keep nothing from you either way.

Onto the suds.......

Ravenbeauty's OLTL Dish

For crossover AMC fans who are still weeping over Babe Chandler, cry no more. Seems the show is ready to present the new Babe in all her glory. Aubrey is the new Babe; Clint is the new Adam, and Joey the new JR. More to arrive to make the picture complete. They want to milk this for all it's worth. Like Stacy and Babe before her, there is a heart buried under that mane of long blonde hair with gold digging roots. Aubrey grows a conscious slowly but surely. We will be treated to why she became the Whore of Babylon, and what each one of her heads truly represents. The show has a much better explanation than the bible.

Speaking in biblical terms, the riot is on its way. It was merely delayed my friends. Look for dogs and cats living together.....mass hysteria. Not even the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man can delay this one. Look for a rather shocking announcement soon (so many have had to take heat over this one, I included). I say this because every time I have reported this, negotiations came to a halt, or things were put on hold. For gossip columnists like me, you might as well just stab us in the heart, and be done with it because we look like total duduskaviches! MAKE UP YOUR MIND (I always feel better after a good scream)! Before I left, I said there would be rioting in the streets and that's because there will be (that is unless this is put off yet again, in which case, I will pull out every last strand of hair on my head)! I am sure fans have noticed a major fan favorite with very little to do these days (basically window dressing instead of front burner madness). This one can be really good or really bad depending on what side of the coin you are on. I guess we will just have to welcome him home (and if he changes his mind again, I don't even want to talk about it because I will be sitting in a hypnotists chair somewhere asking for the memory to be permanently erased from my mind)! As it is, I have nightmares of crabs, deserted islands, and sea air, which causes my hair to frizz! Welcome home Roger!

I warned you that Tess was coming (you aint seen nothing yet). When all is said and done, look for Brody to end up on the cutting room floor. Rex will find love again, and a story that has never worked, will finally wrap. A Frons favorite is said to be leaving (female). I guess we will have to watch how this one plays out. Too many leading ladies, with this one never quite catching on (6 months tops and that's being generous).

Natalie is about to have everything come crashing in around her. Speaking of Natalie and Jessica, Cutter may be here to stay. He may also find himself related to Llanview in a very surprising way. Once Jessica is done spitting nails, she will have a very interesting new man in her life (I guess it depends on what you consider as new). If the writers decide to go all the way with this, we will see Jessica find love once again (early rumblings guys...very early). Clint may just find love with the most unlikely woman yet (think Kimmie). Major family fall out over this one (if they dare go there).

Ravenbeauty's GH Dish

The mood is a somber one at GH, with many affected over the firing of their long time friend and co-worker Rebecca Herbst. The mood is definitely dark with actors openly venting about the situation. The mood is about to become a little darker when others are cut as well. I told you in my earlier column, that it's bye Johnny with one of my absolute favorite (and recently back burnered) leading ladies being offered recurring only. One female vet will also be cut due to budget constraints. She will not be happy, and the show expects a lot of vocalization over this one (blogging, tweeting, etc).

As for that missing baby, look no further. The baby is not Dante's. The baby is not the Balkan's son. The baby is Jax and Brenda's, leading to outrage, fury, shock, and something incredibly special. Fans will be treated to Carly speaking in Latin as her head spins completely around while "Mad World" plays in the background. I will definitely be stocking up on Junior Mints and popcorn! Carly and Jax's relationship is a wasteland, and I'm hearing that Jax may be off canvas when this story wraps (possibly with Brenda in tow). Again, only what I am hearing for now. There have been major rewrites on this one! they really have gone back and forth on this story many times over (I've heard this from two separate sources now). Just passing this on for what it's worth. Speaking of children, a child dies leaving pain and sorrow in their wake.

As I mentioned before, Sam and Jason will have a baby of their own to deal with. A crisis ensues, and with it Franco reappears once again, (it's a very Mad World). A child learns the identity of the Balkan, and Shawn is torn apart by what he is told to do. The Balkan should have been smarter. One of his own exposes him in all his glory. Michael wants revenge on Franco, which only serves to muddy up the already troubled waters. Appearances are deceiving when it comes to Brenda. Jason will be the first to figure things out.

Lucky and Siobhan are set to marry unless the writers have a change of heart. Michael is forever grateful to Abby for opening up his heart, and allowing light and laughter back into his life again (after the Franco fall out). Dante has another problem involving his badge, and Lulu maintains her distance for a while longer. Robin and Patrick will find their way back to each other after Lisa crashes and burns (but it won't be without more obstacles coming their way).

A prince may be in search of a new kingdom if ABC decides to cut this one loose. They are trimming the fat, leaving many to wonder where they stand with the show. Looks like we are in for a Mad Hatter pawnshop scenario where precious and more expensive jewels are traded in for larger quantities of costume jewelry. A lot is up in the air right now at ABC. As usual, there is always more drama behind the scenes than on camera!

OK guys, that's it for now. I wasn't able to grab as many scoops for the copy and paste section of my column (I'm posting early this week, so not everything is out yet), but I know most of you are not here for that stuff anyway. Onto the spoilers for all of your favorite daytime shows nonetheless! Get comfy and away we go......

SOD & SOW Scoops courtesy of DontStare at SoapCentral.Com:

Main AMC story in both mags is the Kendall/David drama. After being thrown back into jail David uses his one phone call to contact Kendall, who goes to see him. Her anxiety is raised again, due to what she doesn't remember & she ends up collapsing as she's leaving him. That lands both Kendall & David in the hospital. She needs to have a major surgery, which she doesn't want to get. David/Ryan later argue outside of her room. It's eerily similar to their altercation on the roof. Cue Kendall's memory returning. She's shocked & scared. She tells Griffin everything. She's trying to call Erica to tell her & to tell her to stop covering for her. A sedated Kendall ends up busting out of the hospital to find Erica w/just her hospital gown, a coat, and some boots. Which isn't good. She collapses in the snow, there's a rupture around her heart. Griffin manages to reach her by phone. Along with Jake & Cara they get to her w/an ambulance - but then a hallucinating Annie drives smack into the ambulance with them all inside. Griffin has to operate on the spot but needs David's assistance.

There's numerous new pics for this sl & also a picture of Annie beating up Colby in the mags.

The next big AMC story is Jack/Erica/Caleb. Walt talks about Erica's history of cheating, saying that the thought is always at the back of Jack's mind. This week, he keeps on walking into C/E having intense & close moments. He finally calls Erica out & Erica finally tells him the truth. They discuss why she didn't tell him and she brings up his testimony at Bianca's custody trial. His straight moral compass. Walt thinks it's late in the game to bring that up but totally realistic that it would still be there for Erica. He also basically blames Kenlee for J/E's everything as if they invite J/E into their problems. Anyways, J/E's problems are put in the background for a bit w/Kendall's health issues.

Before Kendall's drama begins, Ricky asks a shocked Kendall out to dinner. He explains - as friends! Embarrassed by even thinking he was asking her out, Kendall agrees to the dinner in some nice scenes. AM ponders where AMC is going with the pair as SOW ?'s if there's a chance their relationship could go romantic. He keeps popping up & she really feels comfortable with him & trusts him completely - you know, in large part b/c of the whole priest thing.

Krystal & Jack? She's been his sounding board but the writers haven't put sexual tension in & neither are the actors.

Interview with Ted King and ABC.Com!

When Blair set out to track down the artist behind that mysterious painting of her, she opened the door to one of the most familiar faces in Daytime. Ted King might be best known to fans as Danny Roberts on Loving (and later The City). Or perhaps as dastardly Luis Alcazar and complicated-but-still-pretty-dastardly Lorenzo Alcazar on General Hospital.

Now, Ted King has made his way to One Life to Live, where he plays this mysterious artist, Tomas. What's he up to? What are Ted's feelings on being back in Daytime? We talked to him and got the answers from the source.

ABC.com: So, welcome back to daytime!

Ted King: Thank you.

I guess it's fair to say we've all missed you on the soaps, so what's it like being back?

Completely different. You know, well, you know, I started here in New York, and did two shows here, and then went to California to do primetime for ABC, and then ended up doing primetime for the WB, and ended up coming back to New York and doing some guest star spots, and then going back to California and doing more primetime, and then I booked General Hospital -- did that for four and a half years, and then went back to primetime, did Prison Break, and you know, a bunch of other things, and now I find myself back on daytime, so I keep jumping from one world to the next. They're very different. They really are very different -- in the way they shoot, obviously daytime is much, much faster days.

Did it take some getting used to, or was it sort of like riding a bike back into that rhythm?

Well, I think if I had been single, it would have been like riding a bike, but now, you know, since I left General Hospital I've gotten married and had a baby. So, I have a three-month-old who's my number one priority, and so it's much different now. There's more on my plate than I had back then.

It's got to be a big challenge.

Yeah, it was a lot different because, you know, we had to pack a whole family, and pack up, you know the new, you know all the things that go with that, and then also start the new show.

Keeps you on your toes.

Oh my God, man, an understatement.

And not only just back in New York, but back in your old studio that you were on for The City.

Yeah, they're just across the hall. I was where The View is, and now I'm across the hall where All My Children was when I was there.

Do you ever walk around and get flashbacks from The City days?

I certainly did when I did The View. Just sitting in that studio, and I mentioned it on the show when they were interviewing me. "You guys did a nice job with this place." Barbara got a nice kick out of that.

How was it doing The View? Was that cool?

It was wonderful, absolutely wonderful. They treated us fabulously, you know. They were kind to us both on and off camera. I spent a lot of time with my wife and the baby off camera.

Yeah, we got to see them on camera for a minute.

Yeah, my daughter stole the show I think.

So, on One Life to Live you're playing a character named Tomas who, sort of starts off at least, as this mystery guy a little bit. So what can you tell us about Tomas?

Well he doesn't start off -- I mean, I still, there's still a lot of mystery to this guy. And I've been doing, I've shot quite a few episodes at this point. But, what I can tell you at this point, for this first week of shows, is that we're introduced to Tomas as a painter who lives in Paris, who painted a portrait of Blair -- unbeknownst to her -- based on a photograph he found in the Marché aux Puces, which is a French flea market, pretty famous French flea market. And he found this photograph of her on her wedding day with Todd -- with the original Todd, with Roger Howarth -- and was so moved by the joy in her eyes and in her face that he painted this portrait of her, and somehow the portrait found its way back to Llanview and landed in her hands, and she decided to cross the ocean to figure out who painted this portrait and why.

Right.

So we're introduced to Tomas and they're sitting in his flat in Paris, and they share a beautiful bottle of French wine, and then she leaves him, and the man that told her where he lived was a friend of Tomas's. His name is Claude. Claude returns the favor about getting Tomas Blair's address back in Llanview, and so Tomas, being a spontaneous bohemian that he is, gets on a plane and drops in on Llanview.

So is it fair to say then that Tomas is a very artistic person? Is there a little bit of obsession [with Blair]? Are we not supposed to know exactly what it is right at the beginning?

He's artistic. He's an artist at heart. And everything that he does in life comes from that desire to live life to its fullest, as many artists try to do because they're trying to experience as much as possible as they can to fulfill their art, and make their art richer. I know a lot of people in real life like this -- a lot of actors that I've worked with over the years who, you know, would much rather learn to drive on a race course than pay their rent.

New experiences and such.

Yeah, they're afraid that they're, you know, they're afraid to live in the mundane. Constantly pushing boundaries, and ultimately that puts Tomas in a lot of danger.

Yeah. And he's inspired by Blair.

He's totally inspired by Blair, and he's inspired not just by the photograph, but when she arrives he's inspired by her own desire for more out of life, and this "journey" that she's on in her pursuit of happiness. [it's the feeling] she knew on that wedding day [in the picture Tomas has].

How has it been working with Kassie DePaiva?

Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better start on One Life to Live. She's been absolutely phenomenal. She's been so warm and inviting, and easy to work with and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better co-star to start the show with.

Were you familiar with One Life at all before you started the show? Was there anybody that you were looking forward to working with?

I was friendly with Nathan Fillion [ex-Joey]. There were a lot of people back then that I knew, but like I said, a lot of them are gone. But as far as looking forward to the people that are there now, I mean, I've always admired Erika Slezak's work. I think the world of her acting. She's just always right on, and in the moment and very spontaneous, and I like the way she works, you know?

She's amazing. So, looking at your career and a lot of the characters you've played -- especially the ones you've played on Daytime -- if not necessarily bad guys, they're more of the rogue, bad-boy types. Do you enjoy playing that type of a character? Is that more fun than playing a straight up hero type?

Well, I played the hero type on primetime. I did that certainly on Charmed and on Time Cop. But, for some reason, Daytime has, you know, the roles that have come along were the bad-boy roles. But this particular role, I wouldn't even say that about [Tomas]. I had a hand in working with Frank [Valentini] and Ron [Carlivati] -- the executive producer and head writer -- in co-creating something. That was a big part of the reason why I agreed to come and do the show, because Frank said to me, "We'd like to create something with you." And I hadn't heard that before. It was a wonderful opportunity, I mean, it doesn't happen to an actor all that often. So I jumped it the opportunity, and it's been great.

So it seems like being involved with Blair it's going to have Tomas butt heads with Todd at some point -- because everybody who gets involved with Blair generally does. Looking forward to that, is that shaping up to be an epic clash for Tomas?

It will definitely be revealed that he's not just there to engage Blair. He's also there to deal with Todd.

So there's a lot more we're going to be finding out about him as the weeks go ahead.

There's no question.

So, definitely we've got some General Hospital fans who are going to be reading this. Any kind of memories about GH, about playing Luis and Lorenzo from your time on General Hospital? What did you like best about playing those two characters, particularly Lorenzo, who had a lot of time to really develop?

Those were two, I know -- up until that point in my career -- I think those were two of my favorite characters that I've played. They really allowed me -- they had a lot of depth to them, and they weren't one dimensional. Lorenzo, like you're speaking, was not one dimensional by any means, and we got to see him be nefarious one second and be sweet, kind, romantic the next.

Was it satisfying taking a character that certainly started off villainous and had his villainous moments, but then seeing that character become really accepted and beloved by the fans?

Very satisfying. Very satisfying. My goal always is never to make fans love him or hate him, but just to make him real and honest and hopefully entertaining.

Any last words about Tomas, about what's coming ahead? What would you say to the fans about the weeks ahead?

I'd say it may turn out to be my most challenging role to date. You know, the character speaks five languages, paints, was educated at Julliard in piano, and also knows martial arts.

That's a lot to do!

Yeah, I've done a lot in the last, just the last two weeks. It's quite a ride so far.

Austin Peck to OLTL!

Soap Opera Digest has learned that Austin Peck (ex-Brad, ATWT; ex-Austin, DAYS) has been hired for a new role at OLTL. He first reports to work on January 31. "In a lot of ways, it's a compliment that they feel I can play this character," he notes. "I don't know what kind of legs this character will have; hopefully, he'll have strong ones. It all depends on how they write him and what I do with what they give me. No matter what, I am going to do my best to bring it alive and have fun." The new gig brings him to the same set as former co-star Terri Conn (Aubrey; ex-Katie, ATWT), also his real-life love interest. "We've both lamented over the past year how much we miss working with each other," he says. "Who knows whether our characters will have any interaction, but the fact that we'll be on the same set on some of the same days is quite a consolation."
