Hi, glad you all like Wessel!!
I know he is not an approved stallion, and I tell all mare owners this, but personally I wouldn't want one as it is so much of a faff! I like crossbreeding as well, and as far as I can tell a stallion has to be approved on a certain number of pure offspring per year - there just aren't the numbers of mares to do that in the UK. Plus the fact he is not the type the dutch judges want at all - have you seen the pics of all the stallions that have been approved this year? Totally different to what I want and think of as a friesian!!!! I like them chunky and fluffy!!!;) And I don't want him sent to Holland to be approved as I don't like the way they train them - Wessel is a big girls blouse and despite his size hates being shouted at or getting anything wrong or being chased with a lunge whip - he sulks for days and goes off his food - which for a friesian is a big thing!!!! - I've ruined his manly image now!!
I don't ride him as I don't ride anymore - I seem to be very good at looking at the ground face first and consuming large chunks of it!! Am hoping to drive him this year, but have to save up to get my sandschool finished - of course I'm winning the lottery next week so shouldn't be too long!!!;)
Have bought in a couple of mares - one from Holland and one from Germany as I can never find what I'm looking for here, but this year am downsizing as my shoulder and elbow are knackered from poop scooping so many horses, so may sell a few of my girls on, will keep the boys though and a few of the old farts who are soon due for retirement!!!
