Subject: Which bit do you have your Friesian in?
In reply to: Sarah 's message, "Which bit do you have your Friesian in?" on 10:55:57 05/15/08 Thu

Quick question re: bits, does anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid lip pinching?

My Friesian only just started to get a cut on one side of his mouth. I thought he rubbed it or it was a fly bite. My trainer told me it was the bit (too small) so I went out and bought a new one.

The larger bit is of great quality and I also got rubber rings for the snaffle. Unfortunately, once again I noticed today that he is still having a problem with a small wound that is bleeding but looks much better than it did a few days ago.

Any ideas? Maybe some lotion or vaseline?

Thanks!
