I am afraid I do not understand how the old style, draft type Friesian horse translates into a more suitable riding type horse. The old style Friesian is not Baroque in shape, it resembles a draft horse. I am not sure the FPS knows what it is doing in terms of creating a modern riding horse as their testing/keurings still seem geared towards the presentation of a carriage animal, but the horses ARE starting to look somewhat rideable...ie not as downhill, extremely long backed, weak loined, camped out behind, incredible weak in the stifles and so heavy that any form of cardiovascular conditioning would be out of the question without serious risk to the horse.

So yeah, while I agree that I am not so sure the FPS would know sport charicteristics if it hit them in the face, I REALLY don't think there is anything about the old style Friesian horse that made it suitable to excell at anything outside of harness work.
