I agree...there are definately more "strange" deaths within this breed. This is simply a fact of life when the gene pool gets too small. The FPS are more concerned with breed type than they are with vigour and the health of these horses....and until this changes (ie we get some new blood into the breed) this is going to continue to be an issue.

Even the Trakehner breed has allowed for some select outside blood to prevent such issues...and still, they have lost out in terms of their standings in the sport horse world as a result of their extreme focus on breed type and maintenance of a "closed studbook". The FPS has taken this to such an extreme that inbreeding is now posing a serious health threat to the breed...extreme hair and color is only so important people.
