Well! Thank you sooooo much ladies, I knew there was something a little odd about the bit issue. I bought my guy as a yearling, and have brought him about slow and easy..so my concern too was taking him to a trainer and ruin what I have created! I have had young horses before, this is just my first Friesian! I saved for many yrs. to aquire him. As I told the "trainer", I ride him in an Indian Bosal and actually he goes ALOT better in it than the bit! I have not cantered with him yet as he is still clumsy and off balance a little. But we will tackle that later!
Again, I am glad to hear less is more! That is what I was always taught.......
