Subject: Muddy Feathers

Just wondering how every one in these wet winter climates deals with the constant mud on the fetlocks. Especially when hosing them off is not an option. When my horse comes in from the field and it is wet which it is almost constantly he is just caked with goopy mud. I usually get a bucket of water and a microfiber rag and do my best to wipe them as clean as I can but it is a job and it sure is a mess to say the least. Any ideas? I don't want to keep him stalled everyday as I feel horses should be turned out as much as possible.
