Honestly Kat, that sounds like a suspiciously low amount for a trained Friesian gelding. He is a bit older, and the market has been bad, which could account for cost, but being so supposedly experienced would make me suspicous of something. Friesians can live into their mid-twenties barring any unforseen issues (ie: colic/heart issues).

I would just be cautious.. go to see him and see what he is really like!
