Subject: Recycled Friesians

As I always check sale websites such as Agdirect, Dreamhorse, even FHANA classifieds, it never ceases to amaze me how many horses are recycled for sale in less than nine months. And every time they are 6-10K higher priced for absolutely no real reason (no further training, no showing, not bred...). Saw a gelding imported by BSF that I simply loved back up for sale after three months 'cuz the owner wasn't interested in dressage anymore. Another cheaply priced gelding I liked and actually inquired about is back up after less than a year and now not cheaply priced. Same thing for a non-ridable broodmare. Heck even a gorgeous Moriesian gelding that I almost purchased has been recycled four times now, each time raised by 5K (he makes me feel bad 'cuz it feels like I've been following his life for that time...kinda' how you follow along w/ Black Beauty...poor guy). I also find it amusing that, like, 60% of the recycled Friesians I see are in NJ which is where I am. What gives?! I just don't get it. *sigh*
