Well, I have no idea how common it is, but Stam 61 is pretty large, and they don't seem to be too closely related. Obviously all Friesians are related in some way or another, and it makes sense that it would occur through the dam line as well as the sires.

I'm not really up on the ins and outs of the Stams in anycase. -shrug-
