Here in Holland also a lot of people keep the manes braided when they have long manes. Important is that you do this not to tight and after two or three days you do it all over again (and again and again........), try to pick every time other peaces of the manes.

For all I know, it keeps the manes your horse has very nice but that they will grow faster.....Can't believe it...our hair doesn't grow any faster either when we tigh it up right? And besides this I tried it on my horses and it didn't work at all........ :-(

Another tip when you use something to untangle it, don't use products with "silicones"in it, because after many use, you will loose the manes and tail ;-)

Good luck!
