Subject: Horse out all night

I'd like to know if anyone leaves their horses out all night, and if there's any benefit to this. I feel safe knowing she's in her stall over night while it's so dark, but would like to give her the freedom to come and go as she pleases from the barn to the paddock. They are connected. I've let her graze after dark and can't tell if she even notices that it is infact dark out. She just munches away on the green. But who knows if some crazed animal could come by late at night. I've lost chickens before we got a dog, but I think that was by a raccoon.
