I have used mane bags since I bought my Friesian, Apollo, two years ago. He hasn't had them on in months and it is the longest I have ever let him go without them. I have had no problems with other horses grabbing them or his rubbing them or anything like that, although I'm sure that for some horses that could possible be a concern. I guess you would just have to try and see.

They made a HUGE difference. Apollo's mane grew so fast I could hardly believe it! And it grew in thicker. I really believe in them and think they work great. I just haven't had the extra time and energy lately so I haven't put them in for awhile. Just the other day I was thinking about how his mane doesn't look as healthy. It is broken on the ends and has really become redder. I was always jet black when I kept it covered in the mane bags. I guess I should put them back in.
