They should have more "at large" delegates and then go out and personally hunt down some stunning newbies they could mold into hot, pageant-ready contenders. Florida has been EXTREMELY disappointing for me recently. If TelAire is reading this I'd be happy to scout new talent for them. I did it in California. I certainly could do it here in Florida. It almost seemed rigged to me that she didn't get in. I don't care HOW inexperienced in pageants a girl is....when she looks THAT stunning she should make the cut. It entirely depends on the winner situation with school and her age. If she's in high school, she probably not moving to NYC. I don't think I'd be wrong in saying that its not always the girls who look best in their first pics who win ;) Anyone with me in thinking we need to look at girls with blue backgrounds in their headshots? One other thing -- in general I think the past couple of years' headshots are way more natural than previous ones... even looking from 2004 back. I'll go back to 1995, the last year where I can remember clearly how Miss Puerto Rico looked like. 1995 - Desiree Lowry - 1st Runner-Up I personally LOVE Desiree, and she's still my favorite Miss Puerto Rico of all time. However, I feel that the stars were aligned that night for Chelsi to win Miss USA. She was just destined for that crown. I do feel that Desiree would have outperformed Shanna Moakler enough to get 1st runner-up, and she would have become Miss USA when Chelsi won Miss Universe. 1996 - Sarybel Velila - Top 6 I thought that at Miss USA 1996, the judges focused on beauty of face (which is how I think Ali Landry won over Danielle Boatright). So that's why Zoribel would have placed in the Top 6 at Miss USA. The Top 3 that night however, really belonged to Becca, Ali and Danielle. 1997 - Ana Rosa Brito - UNPLACED I don't know how Ana Rosa managed to make the Top 10 at Miss Universe. Her face just seemed way too harsh for me. And since the level of competition at Miss USA 1997 was high (it had Angelia Savage and Claudia Jordan, for example), I don't think Ana Rosa would have placed at Miss USA. 1998 - Joyce Giraud - 2nd Runner-Up I think Joyce would have charmed the judges enough to get to the Top 3, but with her questionable interview skills, there's no way she could have outplaced Shauna Gambill or Shawnae Jebbia. But here's a twist: If the Top 3 were Joyce, Shauna, and Shawnae, the judges might award it to Shauna, especially how advanced her interview would have been compared to Joyce and Shawnae. 1999 - Brenda Liz Lopez - Miss USA 1999 I personally thought that this was one of the weakest groups at Miss USA ever, so Brenda would have steamrolled through the competition and would have become Miss USA 1999. 2000 - Zoraida Fonalledas - Top 10 The competition that year wasn't too stellar either, but then, Zoraida wasn't an exceptional candidate for Puerto Rico. She would have placed in the Top 10, but nothing further. 2001 - Denise Quinones - Miss USA 2001 I know many people are still hung-up on the Denise vs Evelina debate, but much as I love Kandace Krueger, I think Denise would have had no problems winning this. Her only competition would have been Larissa Meek, but she would have won it nonetheless. 2002 - Isis Casalduc - UNPLACED While Isis had great stage presence, I don't think would have stood out enough to make the cut that year at Miss USA. 2003 - Carla Tricoli - UNPLACED I personaly loved every single girl who made the Top 10 at Miss USA that year, and Carla's lack of spunk and stage presence will cost her a spot. 2004 - Alba Reyes - Top 10 While she had great stage presence at Miss Universe that year, I don't think Alba would have made the Top 5 at Miss USA. Every single girl at the Top 5 that year (Shandi, Amanda, Ashley, Lindsay, Stephanie) would have outshined her. She has enough goods to make the Top 10, though. 2005 - Cynthia Olavarria - 2nd Runner-Up This is where I got stumped. While very beautiful, I just don't know if she would have outperformed either Chelsea Cooley or Brittany Hogan. Chelsea and Brittany just seemed very charming and personable that the judges would still have awarded the Top 2 positions to them. Cynthia would have finished at a respectable 2nd-runner-up. 2006 - Zuleyka Rivera - Miss USA 2006 Had Zuly competed at Miss USA 2007 or 2008, I don't think she'll win. But had she competed at Miss USA 2006, she would have won, easily. No disrespect to Tara Conner, but Zuleyka would have outshined her easily. 2007 - Uma Blasini - UNPLACED Uma seems to be such a sweet girl, but like in Miss Universe, I really don't think she would have made an impact at Miss USA 2007. 2008 - Ingrid Rivera - 1st Runner-Up If Ingrid showed up at Miss USA 2008 looking how she looked at Miss Puerto Rico, she would have EASILY won the swimsuit and evening gown competition. The one glaring thing in the content of your post that I didn't agree with was Denise Quinones beating Kandace Krueger. To me, Kandace seemed destined to win HER crown and Denise wouldn't have even made TOP 5 that year. And the one thing I totally agreed on was Zuly. She would've absolutely KILLED it at Miss USA that year and then gone on to be Miss USA's next Miss Universe. Loved the post! Subject: Tickets are now on sale for Miss teen usa. We got ours. I called today and got the $50 seats for Friday night, and the $100 seats for Saturday. The lady on the phone said we have the same seats for both nights. Hope they're good ones.

I am not related to anyone who was in any way associated with any pageant in the last 15+ years. I am not a Pageant Director & I am not employed by or associated with any Pageant Directors. I am merely a big fan of Pageants, especially MUO Pageants. With the Miss Teen USA Pageant coming up in the next four weeks, it is obvious that there are some contestants who have less than clean "Rap" sheets. From what I have read there is one who was caught with Marijuana & Alcohol, possibly during a school sponsored trip. Then another one who has not problem trespassing on private property & partying with friends on that same private property. Both of these girls still have their titles and are going to be allowed to participate & what I find really amazing is that there are people on these different boards who are defending this behavior and even blasting anyone who has been critical of the actions of said State Delegates. Folks, it's time that kids are once again taught morals, etiquette & especially respect for others and the LAW! Further, anyone who wants to be the Official Representative of Teen Girls all over the USA needs to be of outstanding character. It's time that it stops being "cool" to be the latest Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan or in general hoodlum/tramp of the week! Keep in mind that some people have daughters that may look up to you & those parents do NOT want their little girls to aspire to be criminals & or just trashy in general. as much as I don't defend possession of alcohol and marijuana in a Teen (everyone does it anyway), PAGEANTS AND MORALS do NOT go hand in hand... Because it's too easy for us to criticize them, but then we have the right to critique the girls based on how they look in a swimsuit. So my point is, people who get all irked by the whole issue should not be watching pageants at all.. it's pretty much a double standard (NT) -- Because after all, Teen USA is nothing more than 'child porn', 14:19:11 07/20/08 Sun I was sitting with a "Miss" contestant during the Teen pageant last year when Hillary was crowned and she told me that she spoke to someone within the Miss Colorado organization who said they were hoping Hillary wouldn't win because she was a total party girl. I say that most teens out there are going to party or break the law at some point - they are kids and kids do stupid things sometimes. The MUO is probably equipped to keep the girls in line, so I say find something else to be worried about. Take a poll of every teen girl across the US and I bet 98% couldn't even tell you who the current Miss Teen USA is so all this talk about being looked up to is basically a bunch of hog wash.
