The purpose of this board is to create a forum in which pageant fans, delegates, contestants, etc, can post and view messages which are DIRECTLY related to the Miss Universe pageant system. Our mission is to provide a civil environment where all are welcome - from dial-up to cable. Because of this we ask those posting pictures to be considerate of others and downsize larger pictures. Please use common sense as to the number of photos you provide within a post. we suggest larger numbers of photos within one post to be posted as a "click in". This is no place for continuous and unrelenting bashing - in a MEAN and INTENTIONAL fashion. It won't be tolerated. We all know that this may mean different things to different people, so let's just use some common sense here. It's one thing to not like someone and say so, it's another to CONTINUALLY bash this same person by using different handles. In addition, ads, banners and posts concerning clothing for sale, etc, will be deleted. There are plenty of consignment forums and other options for those who want to sell their goods or products. Finally, we encourage all participants to respect the flow of the board. We respectfully request that you not stop the flow of discussion with personal attacks directed at other members of the board. If this occurs, we request you take those personal attacks off the board and settle your problems with each other personally through email. We have several posters on this board who have a sense of humor that some may find offensive, especially if you are a first time visitor. Please understand that we do have thought provoking conversations, but there are some posters (BamaMan, Gladys, Miss USA 2007 Contender and the remainder of her family just to name a few) who are posting in a joking manner. All complaints are welcome but we request you do so via email. There is a button below to contact all the moderators per email. Complaints on the board will be unapproved.

Renee Mokihana Nobriga Crowned 2010 Miss Hawaii USA

WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Renee Mokihana Nobriga, 25, was crowned the 2010 Miss Hawaii USA on November 9, 2009 at LEVEL4 in the Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki.

Renee lives in Pupukea on the North Shore of Oahu and is the daughter of Kealoha and Iwalani Nobriga. Renee works as a senior sales associate and a model. She graduated from Kahuku High School in 2002 and has an associate's degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in liberal arts. Renee's goal is to become Miss Universe, open her own boutique and earn a degree in communications. Her hobbies include snowboarding, swimming, surfing, drawing and singing.

Other awards awarded were:
Academic Achievement: Melissa McMurray
Miss Photogenic: (tie) Kawena Chun and Delys Recca
Hawaiian Language: Kawena Chun
Community Service: Cydney Chu
Miss Congeniality: Delys Recca
Miss Popularity: Melissa McMurray
People's Choice: Kellene Chun
Advertising: Kawena Chun
Best Interview: Colette Errico
Best Swimsuit: Kawena Chun
Best Evening Gown: (tie) Renee Nobriga and Kawena Chun

Contestants competed in a judges interview, swimsuit and evening gown phases. Semi-finalists were given an on-stage question.

Miss Hawaii USA is the official preliminary to the Miss USA pageant. Miss USA then moves on to compete for the highly coveted crown of Miss Universe.

Past Miss Hawaii USA titleholders include actress Kelly Hu and newscasters Trini Kaopuiki and Kuualoha Taylor. In the past, Hawaii has won the Miss USA title four times - Macee Wilson (1962), Tanya Wilson (1972), Judy Anderson (1978) and Brook Lee (1997). Brook Lee also went on to win Miss Universe.

The Miss Hawaii USA pageant is independently produced by executive directors/designers Eric Chandler and Takeo of 2COUTURE. More than $100,000 in scholarships and prizes were awarded.

WI has updated the bios of there new titleholders... and I found out something I hadn't heard before!

Kirsten Norderhaug (WI Teen USA) is the daughter of Linda (Paulson) Norderhaug, Miss North Dakota USA 1976!!!

I think this is the fourth time in the past six years that a daughter of a Miss USA titleholder has competed at Teen USA... Allie Laforce (daughter of OH USA 77), Lauren Hudman (daughter of OK USA 82), Julia Dalton (daughter of NC USA 82) being the others...

and there's actually video on Youtube of the Parade of States that year!

Ten(10) Miss Earth 2009 candidates appeared on stage last Sunday , Nov. 8, with international singing sensation Billy Crawford performing Sean Kingston's Fire Burning.

This year’s second stop on The Road to Hollywood saw a Saturday twilight pageant as we made our first visit to DeBary in West Volusia County. The contest saw two titles up for grabs as seven delegates competed for the titles of Miss West Volusia County USA & Teen USA. The beautiful Gateway Center for The Arts was our host location as a fun day of friendship and pageantry awaited.

Subject: Jack, Sam has been in the pageant system for many years. She was first runner up at Miss Virginia Teen for three years and has stayed active in the pageant world ever since. We love her b ecause we know her and what a sweet person she truly is. She is beautiful on the inside and outside. Just wish you could meet her and you would agree. There are very few people who know her that do not like her

The eventual winner MARJORIE WALLACE of the USA was dethroned and did not finished her reign. The 1st Runner-Up that year was Miss Philippines EVANGELINE PASCUAL turned down and did not accepted the Miss World crown from the Morleys due to her rising show business career in the Philippines. The 2nd Runner-up was Miss Jamaica.

Miss England has had to hand back her crown after getting into a brawl with the other chick.

Rachel Christie, niece of Olympic sprinter Linford Christie, has been accused of punching fellow beauty queen Sara Beverley Jones in the face several times at a London nightclub after Sara showed her a text message supposedly from Rachel's boyfriend.

After seeing the message, Rachel (pictured, left) became enraged and - instead of taking it out on her boyfriend - she proceeded to put the beatdown on Sara (pictured, right).

Sara was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Rachel, who is the first black woman to be crowned Miss England, was arrested on suspi­cion of assault.

She has since relinquished her crown.

My research shows that all the girls who have won already graduated from college and I am still an undergrad. I was thinking about reentering but if they are mainly looking for a college grad then it’s a no win situation for me…thoughts? Advice? Oh, in addition, I’ve also noticed that the girls are also models, actresses or just in the arts in general…What does it really take to win this pageant?

Anyone else see her on there?

I watched tonight and my heart broke for her. How did she go from a Miss Oregon Teen USA who was a heavy contender for the Miss Teen USA title to where her life is at now.

I know many pageant fans judge our formers who don't become the next Halle Berry, or even do drugs, have sex addictions, and other self destructive habbits, but I genuinly feel sympathy for them knowing they did once have potential and our now broken. Same with Tia Shorts, Miss Maryland USA 2004 busted for dealing drugs from her boyfriends house. It's sad to see.
