Subject: Amy, I rarely crop to get close to a subject as it means the resolution suffers and the overall file size is reduced. I just bought a new lens with vibration reduction built in, so I was testing it out this weekend. It's a 70-300mm lens, which I tend to use at the 300 end to shoot zoo pix. Everything was hand held and I shot at both 200 ISO and 400 ISO depending on how much shade was involved.
In reply to: AmyLynn 's message, "I love the new background and all the animal pictures. Beautiful!!! So ----you know what's coming--- how did you take them? Did you zoom in for these shots, or did you take a picture and then zoom and crop it? Did you use a prime lens? I just found out my brother has a 500mm prime lens AND a compander (sp?)...he's been holding out on me!!" on Tuesday, April 01, 6:30:02
