I do not like when PARENTS, for pete's sake, buy their little girls and young teen girls clothes with writing across the butt.

I see YOUNG girls with team logo's or any sort of advertising written across their bottoms and I cannot understand why on earth parents would buy this stuff that draws the eye to parts of their anatomy they shouldn't be encouraged to flaunt at that age.

You are deliberately drawing attention to their posterior for what purpose??? It's bad enough when older teens wear stuff like that and then "complain" about the attention they get from the wrong people. I'm sorry, but you asked for the attention. It's like wearing a low cut shirt with a necklace that falls right *there* .... styles like that should be a choice by people old enough to make it and deal with whatever consequences come, but are not age appropriate for kids.

So is this a form of conditioning for young girls? Is this child abuse, putting your little girls out there with a message on their bums? How about putting your kids in the beauty pageants that are oh so different from the days of old? Or dance competitions that may encourage too much overt wiggling and posturing in imitation of the adults, instead of focusing on the dance steps?

Does anybody know what I'm talking about here??

Ok, I'm done now. Just ignore the crazy lady who's ranting.

[> [> First, I'm with you on the butt messages. And on the types of clothes and amount of skin showing that very young girls wear. As to wiggling, have you seen high school pom squads perform lately??? About the FLDS, I share your stated concerns. There is such a conflict of constitutional rights to religious freedom and the government's job to protect children. After reading a little FLDS history online, it seems that the govt. made an attempt in the 1950s to break up a compound, separated mothers/children, and public outcry made the govt. back off. Life got tighter for women with each successive FLDS leader. It's hard to get away because so many police, firemen, etc., in the area are the FLDS men. Child protection people have watched the group/s for years, and when the call came in from a 16-year-old, hoax or not, they responded. The numbers are just overwhelming. -- Ninja_Girl, Monday, April 28, 5:19:24 [1]

[> [> [> One of the most disturbing things I've learned about this group is the "lost boys." Young teenage boys who aren't chosen to be good church men of the future are taken to Las Vegas or Salt Lake City and left there. These kids are just on their own to survive. Too many boys would interfere with the ratio of women needed for plural marriages. -- Ninja_Girl, Monday, April 28, 5:27:52 [1]
