[> SAG and the producers' negotiating arm (Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers - AMPTP) broke off negotiations yesterday after 3 weeks of talks. The breakdown in talks is because SAG is asking for more money and concessions than the Directors or Writers got earlier in the year. The AMPTP doesn't want to do that and is, instead, going to talk to the American Federation of Television and Radio Actors (AFTRA) which has jurisdiction over soaps and a few primetime shows.
