Ok, me being me, i'm starting to get bored of all the frivolous topics clogging the board so i'm putting in a decent one.

Being pagan or whatever Earth trad. you are, how do you find living in the countryside affects your spirituality?

I ask this because i'm living here...in the countryside and i moved from the countryside at home, but i just don't feel all that spiritual at the moment.
Or rather I do, i just don't have any viable means to express it.
I'm not in the mood for rituals, meditation etc etc.
I want something more active than that.
But what??

Does anyone have a clue what i'm talking about or am I comming across all alien?

Ash,
no, you're not coming across alien at all hun.... i live right out in the suffolk country side in the middle of fields and civilisation hardly comes near (apart from our one house next door there's not a lot around us) take me away from that and after a while i start to feel quite numb and a bit lost, uninspired and i just want to be at home.i cant concentrate , and 'normal'stuff that i'd do just doesn't feel right because i'm not here.... i would like to think that you will find something for yourself where you are, which suits your environment and your feelings.
and although it's easy for me to say, i believe there is 'something ' for you anywhere you go to, you just have to let it find you sometimes, are you going to do the ripple med at 10?
i'll be thinking of you then and hoping you find 'yourself' in your spiritual comfort zone again very soon.
lots of love hun.

I understand what you're saying Sam, but it's actually quite a similar area to home, except it's a bit more open.
And it storms here loads more.
Atm there is this HUGE storm going on, has been for hours now.
It's really dark skies, heavy rain, deafening thunder and immense lightning.
It stormed on friday too.
I love how much it storms here, that's a plus!

I hope I can find something too.

Med at 10?
For real?
Lol, no chance, all the mongs will be in by then and so my halls will revert back to raucus central.
It seems to be really quiet and serene friday-sunday and then on sunday night it just gets loud again.

is it possible you could bring stuff in to make it more like home ash?
are you sharing or in your own room, ?
is there no way you can personalise it a bit??

It's my own room, god i'd die if i had to share, lol.

I have stuff in but it's just so different to home that's why it's not homely.
Maybe in time it will be.
:)

Well I don't know if this will help Ash but when I was young Many moons ago I used to do an intense workout to find my connection. After about half an hour I found that I felt very spiritually connected and could go on running or jumping rope for two three hours at a time and not even notice the time passing. It was very connecting for me and can be done in confined spaces. A workout like that would pemanently connect me to the spirit world now so ermm... Well I just don't do that anymore.LOL.
Good luck and I will send good thoughts to you during the ripple.
Blessings.
Pilgrim

Nothing is open on campus on a sunday!
I've not eaten for 2 days and there is nowhere to eat.
And i need a drink!

Wow, gotta put this.

I'm in the I.T. room atm sat with a window looking out onto fields and distant woods.
There is a big hedgerow and a large tree at the edge of the closest field and i can see mist rolling in across the field and on the ground.
It's amazing!!

Sounds like you could have just found a place for you to go to whilst at Uni, to feel that connection with the Earth and her energies..

Might I suggest going somewhere quiet and alone - and yes, looking out of the window of your room will do it, if it's not too noisy - emptying your mind, and just watching and listening. Give it a few minutes. I find it's as if I suddenly become far more aware of everything that's going on - the air currents, the sounds of any animals, the movement of the grass or leaves. Then just let the ideas flow, and see what transpires.

Also, you could try just sitting and concentrating on the rhythm of your breathing - dismiss any thought that comes into your mind, don't alter you breathing from its' normal rhythm, just make yourself aware of it. It's a good way of relaxing into a state of mind that might help you to meditate.

Ellinas.
