Hi all,

ok, i have been thru some real bad times lately, i'm glad of my sleep these days and although i'm trying to relax when i can, it still seems impossible to do so, as so many jobs still need doing, ends to tie up etc.
I think this is the reason for my hot flushes!!
I am almost constantly on the go if not at work i have loads to sort at home too.

Could anyone recomend a temporary fix for hot flushes??
it's not all the time but usually 6-8 times a day i can go from being resonably 'normal' to sweaty betty within 30 or so seconds!!

ugh... i'm sitting here at the pc and i'm having a private summer....

and i'm getting quite uncomfy with them espesh when they happen at work... i suppose it could be hormonal but i doubt it.

Looking forward to hearing from anybody!! lol

Love from 'sweaty' sam spaniel xxx

Hello lovely,

have your tried sage tea? or lemon balm (nice and refreshing and also helpful during stressful times).

These two are the friendliest of the herbs for remedying hot flushes so I would recommend them first.. If the hot flushes are down to hormonal reasons then you may also find raspberry leaf and red clover helpful (taste yummy too!) :)

*°* Sending cool breezes to soothe and relax *°*

(Sage not recommended for use during pregnancy, breast feeding for epileptics. Raspberry leaf also not recommended during pregnancy).

Hello sweet Sam

Personally, I would go and see my doc just to get things checked out. It all sounds a bit excessive to me and the fact that its of sudden onset suggests to me that its not just from tearing around. Im not sure how old you are hun but the menopause is hitting women earlier these days.

Take care and SLOW DOWN!

Blessings

Lil

Yes Sam, sounds rather hormonal to me - hot flushes aren't really that typical of rushing around. I'm in surgical menopause so age is irrelevant, but natural menopuse can happen to any woman from her teens (pretty rare) onwards and although most women start in their early 50's there are many in the late 30's and 40's brackets too. Apparently the age that your mum went through it is a good indicator. I've also heard that sage is good and relaxation will certainly help too. Hope you get it sorted out - hot flushes are yucky!

it could be menopause with me i guess..i am 29 but at 26 i had to have a redical hysterectomy as i had cervical cancer..they managed to preserve my ovaries but said sometimes they do stop working and then menopause could strike early... i was driving to work the other day and thoudgh i was gonna have to pull over as i went so hot that i thought i was gonna loose conciousness,, now that was scarey.... will try some raspberry tea first ((mmmmmmm))..it helped when i had the hyster. so did WW sage tea!! so i think i have some left,,does it go off??
anyway thanks for the kind thoughts and cool breezes.
love sam xx
ps... maybe the trauma i have had lately has upset my hormonal system and triggered it....think that's possible??

If dried herbs are stored in a cool, dark, dry place then they should keep for at least a year (length of time varies from herb to herb) The best way to tell is to look / smell. (Has the colour faded? what about the strength of the aroma? and does it seem 'dusty'?) The active properties do deteriorate over time... and in your case Sam I'd recommend some fresh supplies, it has been quite a long time... (I'll pop some in the post!)

Hi

I do know some people that try to locate a cool part of their body and concentrate on that to cool them down and eventually it is supposed to change their body temperature somewhat....and when they are cold, find a warm part etc....though may not be a good idea when driving ;)

Dunno, you may want to experiment and see if it helps. you! :)

Ooh dear Sam, please take care of yourself.

I would personally go and get myself checked out. At least then you will know what you are dealing with and treat it as you see fit.

The only other thing I would mention is that you should start taking care of your bones hun.

Lecture over - blessings for cool moments!

my bones are all fine at the moment thanks... i have regular 6 month check ups!!
(half way now to my 5 year clear!! YAY!!)

Thanks WW.. you are a diamond... love you x

the raspberry tea is very cooling but at first i tried drinking it hot and it made me have a flush!!lol i should have worked that one out... so, the flushes are not too bad this week... i seem to be ok until i stop doing stuff and sit and rest... then the heat just overwhelms me!!

Oh well, i have a doc appt in nov... so if it does continue then i'll ask him about it,, don't want even more meds though, the NHS are getting enough money out of me for the time being lol!!

love to all.... sending warmth to you all for those chilly evenings on the way!!!....

Sam xx
