] Date Posted: 21:19:21 02/02/11 Wed Greg, I'm sure you remember the time that the motorcycle rider traveling east on Park Ave decided not to make the turn onto Circle Drive and managed travel through your front yard, made his way between two trees only to crash into your living room window in the middle of the night. Date Posted: 15:50:23 02/04/11 Fri Pat, His name was L.E. Stapleton. I had heard his Triumph 650 running up and down Park Avenue all night. It was so loud that I had trouble sleeping. Finally I went to sleep. I remember being in the middle of a dream when I heard this big crash. My dad woke me up and told me a motorcycle had run into the house. I thought yeah, right, go back to bed. But then I pulled myself out of bed and went downstairs to hear Stapleton lying outside beneath our windows using all manner of vulgarities while bleeding all over his face. I remember him cursing so bad my dad would keep telling him to be quiet. But, he was drunk and that was the reason for the accident. He wasn't even aware that he had not turned right or left but ran directly into my downstairs bedroom. Fortunately, I was sleeping upstairs in another bedroom at the time. We found pieces of his hair in the hallway and all the way into the family room. They say that the doctors sewed up his face for about three hours. Ross Fowler was the first doctor over to the house, simply because he lived across the street. My dad never pressed any sort of charges against Stapleton. We just let the insurance pay for the crashed in wall and windows. You know, two foot to the right or left and he would have hit solid brick and died instantly because he wasn't wearing a helmet.
