Subject: Prayers from ZO-Tau member in Phoenix, AZ

My thoughts and prayers go out to the sisters of Tau Beta Sigma at Va Tech during this very difficult time. There is no reasoning and no firm explanations, but you will endure.

I love each one of you and hope that you will focus on the least negative aspects of this incident: many students performed extraordinarily and bravely, the campus and students have represented themselves very well, Hokies will all grow closer, the outpouring of love from around the world is overwhelming, etc. The media's focus on the shooter is important from a lessons learned standpoint, but the more attention that you provide to hate...the more that you give it power.

It's difficult to be so far away from the East Coast in times like this, but you are in our hearts. There is a candlelight vigil at Arizona State University tonight, and there is a 300 person Hokie club in Phoenix to lend support to each other.

I still can't wait to retire in Blacksburg!!! It's the best place on earth.
