Folks,
There are several great sources for bulk food supplies. Remember that you have to store them in safe containers as well. Here are three that I am personally familiar with.

Subject: Bulk Grains Stock-Up

Greetings,

We're offering another Bulk Stock-Up Sale to our friends who may be interested. The spread sheet below indicates current anticipated prices. Our suppliers tell us we should not anticipate shortages on these items, although some prices are continuing to climb.

If there are items on the list you would like us to order for you, just email or call the store with your order/questions by June 1. We will be submitting our orders to our suppliers the first week in June, and will expect delivery within a few weeks thereafter. We ask that you pick up your order items at the store within one week following our notification that your order is ready.

If at any time you would prefer that we prepare storage pails for you with selected items, let us know what you want, and we will prepare a price quote for you. We try to keep a listing of items currently available in the 1 and 5-gal pails on our www.homestylemercantile.com website. We can prepare nearly any 'dry' food items for storage in our pails that we offer on our store shelves. Shipping of the 5gal pails or 4-1gal pails, if required, runs approximately $20-$30/ea. box.

We are now an authorized distributor for Alpine Aire storage foods. We can offer you a 10% savings over the advertised Retail Prices of any items at the www.aa-foods.com website. We can also arrange to "drop ship" large orders to your address, and save you any double shipping costs. However, there is currently a 2-month minimum delay on orders, and they have advised us they are having trouble receiving necessary shipments from some suppliers.

Feel free to Forward this email to your friends in the area who may be interested. Let us know if we may be of service to you. We appreciate your business.

Thanks,
Aaron & Jodi Hein

We just received the following email concerning the current food shortages. It is up to each individual to determine if he has made adequate preparations for his family, for what lies dead ahead. There is no better insurance policy than food storage.

thanks Joe

Letter Re: Long Term Storage Food Vendors are Now Painfully Short on Inventory

Hi Jim,
I would be interested in you analysis of this: Nitro-Pak, is not even accepting orders for #10 cans of food.

Emergency Essentials, (www.BePrepared.com) is out of over half of their #10 can selection.

Notice that [presently] you cannot order even wheat in cans or pails.

Is this happening throughout the food storage industry? What is up with all this? - Paul D

JWR Replies: The storage food industry is relatively small and simply doesn't have the capacity to handle orders from more than 1% or 2% of the population. Because of the recent headlines about global food shortages and galloping price increases, that capacity limit has been reached.

From what I 've heard, many of the vendors have orders backed up by three months or more. In some instances they've been told by the food packing companies (their wholesale suppliers) that they cannot guarantee or even commit to estimating a shipment date. It is no wonder that some vendors have suspended taking new orders.

The bottom line: The food storage concept is going mainstream. So expect long delays in order fulfillment. Please patronize SurvivalBlog's paid advertisers first. They deserve your business. Some of these vendors presently have some canned storage foods in stock, available for immediate delivery,. But with the Generally Dumb Public finally waking up, don't expect this product availability to continue much longer.
UPDATED on Saturday May 17th: I just got word that for the time being, Mountain House has suspended taking any new orders on their freeze dried foods in #10 cans.
