Anyone who has known me for a long time knows that I have been adamant in my opposition to any use of public funds (TAX FUNDS) for any project that should be in the hands of private enterprise. That include transportation, education, utilities. I have a hard enough time with government having regulatory control over any of them but I have spoken out in opposition since my 20's against tax funds being used in any way for these items. When the State of Washington started their infamous PPP's (Public/Private partnerships) I was more than vocal in opposition but because people like to think they are getting a free ride if government does something I couldn't stop that financial fiasco.

If only there could be a clear chart showing exactly how that dollar disappears from the moment it is TAXED out of our pocket and the way it is picked apart as it travels to the first government office and continues on to each successive government pickpocket along the way until it finally returns to the original holder of that dollar as a mere few pennies with chains attached to them if you take them.... thinking you got something free. If that could be clearly illustrated so the dummies could SEE how much that few pennies actually cost THEM they would riot in the streets over the FRAUD they have been subjected to for so long. Each government hand along the way takes a cut of that dollar until there is only a few pennies left. Government does NOT have money of it's own. Government only has what it FIRST TAKES FROM US.... and that includes their printing of FRN's as that only deflates the money we have.

Government is incapable of operating ANYTHING efficiently - that is a fact and everyone knows it. In spite of them being political whores they couldn't even run a whore house in Nevada without losing money on it. The Mustang Ranch they took over. And don't forget what has happened to AMTRAK.

Public Transportation will be run far better if it is OUT of government hands and operated by PRIVATE enterprise.

I’m not aware of a public transportation system in the U.S.A. that doesn’t require me to subsidize your transport.

Here is Perry’s latest.

Gov. Perry taking 'hard look' at local-option rail legislation

AUSTIN Gov. Rick Perry’s office is taking a "hard look" at a sweeping transportation bill that would finance roads and rail lines in North Texas out of concern that it will be widened to other areas of the state and will include taxes and fees that go beyond Perry’s "vision" of transportation funding.

The Texas Local Option Transportation Act was unveiled Monday. Sponsors intend for it to put North Texas on a path toward a regional rail network and billions of dollars in road improvements starting in 2011.

Supporters released a poll this week of North Texans who signaled strong support for a regional rail system to ease pollution and traffic congestion.

In interviews last month, Perry supported creating a locally funded regional rail system in North Texas. Since then, the plan has changed and broadened, prompting Perry to give it a "lot more scrutiny," his spokeswoman Allison Castle said Thursday.
