Subject: new WA state license plates - mystery

Jackie, I just found out something the other day that I wanted to share
with you. Our new WA license plates are a bit different, with a type of
hologram image that is not visible just looking at it normally. It's
difficult to see unless you're in the right sunlight and tilting the
plate just the right way. The whole thing is a mystery to me that I'm
now trying to do research on to find out more about it. The hidden
image on mine is 3 circles right down the middle of the plate. Inside
the circle is a WA at the top with a "B IP1" in the middle of the
circle. All 3 circles are the same.

To back up a bit and explain how I found this out was because of my
griping to others over the new tabs I had to get for my car and the list
of charges that they are socking to people. I've been furious over the
price they wanted to charge, plus, they're demanding that the plates get
replaced... to the tune of 20 bucks additional. Anyway, talked to a few
others, including the guy at the county, where I got the tabs.
(everyone that I've talked to so far, has had to get new plates replaced
at tab renewal time.) The guy at the county admitted that it appeared
that the state was getting back at the voters by adding a bunch of
little charges, plus forcing people to get new plates using the excuse
everyone needed new plates because the reflective paint needed to be
new.

After I left the county, I threw my new plates in the back of my
hatchback, then headed to the feed store for animal food. When the owner
of the feed store was loading my dog food up in the back he started
talking about the new plates everyone was being forced to get. He's the
one that showed me the hidden image on the plate. He said he's done a
little research on it and says it's a way for them to track us via
satellite. Do you know anything about this? If you didn't mind, maybe
you could ask your list if anyone knows what this is about. I've been
doing searches and can't find a thing about it. In the past I've read
about RFID tagging being also in some paint. I wonder if this is some
special paint, (invisible to the naked eye) that's got RFID in it????
By the way, I went outside after dark and shined a flashlight on the
plate... you can't see a thing, so unless the police have some special
light they shine, this isn't a matter of something being reflective
after dark for police use. Also, the hidden image is NOT my license
plate number or even close to it.
Alice
