Since the church passed my e-mail on to Mr Kennard, I don’t believe I have any obligation not to pass on his e-mail to me. I would encourage all to respectfully request Mr Kennard find a more deserving focus for his benevolence.

Lynn

Dear Ms. Stuter,

Pastor David Lundquist forwarded your message to me that you had addressed to Pastor Alec Rowlands. While I am a little puzzled as to why you would address your concerns to the church as I have made it clear that what my wife and I are doing is of our own initiative and not affiliated with Westgate Chapel, I will attempt to address the issues you raise.

Most of your message addresses the broader subject of illegal immigration, something clearly beyond the scope of my initiative. My focus is to address the needs of children who are citizens of the United States in a compassionate and humane manner. The God I worship and His word calls for us to love our neighbors as ourselves and to reach out to those less fortunate. Jesus Himself emphasized His love for children.

Your use of the term "anchor baby" suggests you make some distinction between children born in this country to a citizen and those born to non-citizens. However, the U. S. Constitution guarantees that right to all persons born in this country. The only exception is to children born to foreign diplomats.

The law can be changed through a constitutional amendment, but even if it were to be changed, it would not affect these kids. In fact, there are three million children in the country who are citizens and who have one or both parents that are undocumented, thus subject to deportation. Under current law, those three million kids are guaranteed every right and privilege of citizenship as other citizen, including you and I.

You use the word criminal to describe the mother. Yes, she did violate the law and committed a low-level federal misdemeanor, an offense that until the recent frenzy was not a priority item with immigration as they were more focused on tracking down terrorists and drug smugglers, not tracking down maids, lawn mowers, or fruit pickers. I would not use the word criminal to describe her desire for a better life for her children.

The church has always extended a loving hand to help those who make mistakes. We have prison ministries in jails and prisons. We have outreaches to help them when they get out. We have extensive counseling and support for drug addicts, alcoholics, and prostitutes. Why? Simple...that is what the message of the Gospel is, forgiveness, compassion and love. Jesus set the example.

While it might make some folks feel good to cast the blame for all that is wrong with our society on the undocumented immigrant, the reality is that they merely came to do that which few Americans want to do. Mrs. Reyes was cleaning rooms at a hotel near the airport, a model employee for years according to her former boss. She was doing a job no one else wanted, that according to her boss, not me.

She paid her taxes and did the best to raise her family. Not a bad job at that. Her two older sons graduated from high school, worked hard and were never in trouble. Her daughter wants to finish high school and go on to college.

What I am doing to help this family is lawful and necessary. It is not a sin. Quite the contrary, not to do so would be a sin. May I suggest you read Matthew 25:31-46.

May God bless you and give you peace,

Joe Kennard

Dear Pastor Rowlands,

You have a parishioner, Joe Kennard, who is engaging in activity that violates God’s law.

With a substantial number of American families losing their homes, their jobs, their standard of living because of criminal illegal alien invaders, Mr Kennard has chosen to encourage and enable that criminal behavior which is causing American families so much grief. God does not bless law breakers.

There are many families in America deserving of Mr Kennard’s benevolence: American children of legal American families with aptitude who cannot go to college because their parents have lost their jobs to criminal illegal alien invaders; American families who have no place to live because they have lost their jobs, their homes, their livelihood due to criminal illegal alien invaders.

Ana Reyes is a criminal who entered this country by choice, knowing she was a criminal by doing so. She choose to have children—“anchor babies”—while criminally living within the United States. I would venture so far as to state that she had those children purely for the purpose of using their American citizenship to her benefit. It is obvious that Ana Reyes is an irresponsible individual who really cares little for her children beyond how she can use them. Ana Reyes has coveted that which is not hers to covet. She has violated one of God’s commandments.

Mr Kennard is enabling and encouraging behavior which violates God’s law and existing United States law.

Churches that harbor criminal illegal aliens also violate God’s law.

I am calling on you, as a supposed man of God, to counsel Mr Kennard against the sin he is committing.

Sincerely,

Lynn M Stuter
