 I have a sneaky friend who got a Census taker job just to see what they are doing. And the pay is $17 an hour and up....not bad.
She says they will ask many very intrusive questions like: your political party affiliation; how many what kind of pets; what you do for a living; etc.. These are unconstitutional and you can NOT answer them.

And she asked about the GPS. Nobody knew why they were told to do that, and supervisors said just do it and don't ask questions! Yah mein fuhrer!

However a strong magnet in your pocket can scramble the electronics of the device.

Last census I answered door with strong accent, told them i was just cleaning lady and owner was on a trip. That worked just fine.
