Question about 8crime
John Bull, Nemesis, ML, I remember you told me that when 8crime had his board up, we was able to break into peoples systems by using they're displayed IP addresses.
For instance, there was one guy bull shitting around, so 8Crime was somehow able to access into his the guys web cam, take pictures of him, and post them on his site. The only way for him to be able to do this is to hack into the guys system.
1. Usually, the IP address beign displayed in the Web log file is the IP address of the firewall. This way, the host will not know the actual IP of the user
2. Even if he did, the IP will be useless if the guys system is connected to a router, UNLESS, it's the ROUTERS IP being displayed.
3. If the guy is connected to a router, the router you have that IP for will just reject any attempt to break into through, since routers act like automatic physical firewalls.
How did 8crime manage to break into that guys system?
Could it be that the guy had no firewall and no router and was just directly connected and that's it?
Is there a way to pass through that router? Or could you use the firewall generated IP to access another system?
