Subject: I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian living in Colorado with my own horses. As it turned out, I'm squeamish about blood, hate the cold and snow, and am not much of a "pet person." Go figure!

[> [> Oh yeah. I wanted to be a veterinarian at one point too. But I know I wouldn't be able to put animals to sleep unless it were medically necessary. My mom knows a man who said he and his wife always put their dogs to sleep when they turn 12, regardless of whether they are healthy or not. I couldn't be a vet with customers like that. No way. -- JAG Junkie (Ronda), 22:45:07 11/06/09 Fri [1]

[> [> [> That's awful. I'm surprised they can find a vet to do it. The only time I've ever heard a vet suggest putting a dog to sleep it was because the dog was extremely old and in horrific pain. -- Ann, 08:15:54 11/07/09 Sat [1]
