Subject: SNOW! Grrrrrr...

I never thought I´d say this, usually I love snow, but right now I´m fed up. We usually get hardly any snow over here, and when we do, it´s not much and never stays very long. This year, we´ve had a thick blanket of snow for weeks. Just yesterday, we got another 8 inches or so. Everything looks really beautiful. Now today, due to all the snow we got yesterday, it took me forever to get rid of the snow on my car (it looked like one white blob), then I had to shovel half the parking lot, because my little car got stuck. Urgh. I was late for work. At least I got my workout in, shoveling snow has got to burn some calories, right????
So here we are all snowed in, figuring with all the white stuff we´d get a fluffy white christmas... but NO, apparently it´s supposed to thaw beginning tomorrow and by the weekend all snow will be gone. Now that´s just mean!!!

[> I'm with you. When I'm where I need to be and off from work and have everything I need in the home -- enough healthy food, heat, and my family -- I love snow. But right now -- it's just creating delays, anxiety ( I hate driving in it, especially when it gets icy), and hassles. But, yes, shoveling snow burns kcalories (yaaay!). I need it! Hang in there. -- mj, 13:30:42 12/20/10 Mon [1]

[> I have had it with the snow also. I live in Pittsburgh ....inside -- Martian Barb, 15:22:06 12/20/10 Mon [1]

Since the first week of December, we have not had a single day above 32. Snow started to fall the first week of December and we have not seen any grass since then. We get that lovely lake effect snow from Lake Erie. One newscaster called it "tiny molecules of Lake Erie cascading down over our city." It's good for one, maybe two days...Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, although, I have to work daylight both of those days. This weather is making moving down south a better idea. So, the weatherman just said that we'll probably have a white Christmas.

[> and that ladies is why i live in Texas - it was 74 yesterday and will be 71 today - not the norm for Dallas in December - but not unusual either - we tend to have a mix of 70 degree days - 50sh degree days (the norm) and then a few winter days tossed in to make the 70's average out to 50 - but I love last minute christmas shopping in a short sleeve shirt! -- chris k, 06:38:52 12/21/10 Tue [1]

[> [> Be careful, chris k. Here in upstate NY, we usually get enough extra snow to send a bundle your way. Wouldn't want you to miss the real winter season. -- jenks, 12:43:13 12/23/10 Thu [1]

[> Oh well, seems that we´re having White Christmas after all...it didn´t all thaw, and this night we got another 6 inches of snow. In fact it´s still snowing. Now I just have to get safely to my parents´place (about a 90 min drive under normal circumstances) , so wish me luck! -- Jam...and to everyone a Merry Christmas!, 02:35:12 12/24/10 Fri [1]
