Subject: You know me. My DH and I lived together for six years at a time when it just wasn't done by middle class people. Then we got married Dec. 31 1976, and are still married 34 yrs later. However, I'm not recommending living together casually. I believe in the committment of marriage. As for William and Kate, they appear to be in love, and have not jumped into this. And it clearly isn't an arranged marriage. I watched the wedding and loved it..
In reply to: chris k 's message, "I have this theory- folks who live together before they get married have really crappy odds of staying married. Psychologists say your chances of divorce increase by 50% (that's 50 % more than the already stinky odds) - but I honestly don't know anyone who lived together first and is still married. I have more faith in high school sweethearts - none the less - I'm hoping they're in the 50% who do just fine- it would be nice of the next generation learned from their parents mistake and not repeat them" on 08:32:55 04/21/11 Thu
