Subject: Emory & Henry College. About 20 miles north of Bristol & 3 miles south of Glade Springs on I-81, which is where the tornado touched down. We went down there yesterday & I have never seen destruction like that. It looked like pictures I have seen of the WWII atomic bomb attack. Semis tossed like matchsticks & crumpled. A trailer (where 1 person died) smashed into little pieces against the hillside. The front of a concrete veterinary clinic completely gone. A church blown away with only the foundation standing. Huge trees totally uprooted.
