Subject: I love Thanksgiving. All my family around, a time to stop and give thanks. But what do you do with the leftovers? I'd love to 'hear' some ideas and what you are doing with all that food that was left. Or did you really plan and don't have any leftovers?

[> We had tons of left overs that we split between 13 people! We always make enough to have leftovers for at least 2 days. With the extra turkey, my MIL makes the best turkey salad. -- Angela -- Mommy of 2 JAGlettes, 18:31:31 11/27/10 Sat [1]

[> We were given a 12lb whole turkey by my husband's boss, so I cooked that, but since none of us cares for dark meat, there wasn't much left for leftovers. I made the boys (hubby & 2 sons) "turkey slop" for lunch the next day (turkey & gravy on toast), but that was it for the white meat.... -- (Inside) The Chief, 22:24:54 11/27/10 Sat [1]

One year I made "Thanksgiving Lasagne" by layering turkey, gravy, & stuffing between lasagne noodles. It actually wasn't that bad, but I've never felt compelled to do it again LOL.

My friends from "home" were all talking Friday about "Bobbie" sandwiches - turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Not a fan of the sauce myself, but it's a Philly thing.

I tried making soup last year, but it ended up getting put in the freezer and never being eaten. Oh well.

[> The turkey leftover -- carcass and meat -- is great for making a turkey soup with rice. The days start to get colder where I come from, so this was always so apro pro. One thing, though -- turkey soup from a leftover turkey carcass can sometimes come out greyish-looking. Just add ONE drop of yellow food coloring as it gently simmers and it makes all the difference. This is what is done in many many great restaurants. -- mj, 03:05:38 11/29/10 Mon [1]
