Subject: Well, the baseball season has sadly come to an end in PIttsburgh this year...

With a 57-105 record, the Pirates have finished last for the 18th year in a row. the last winning season that I can remember was in 1992. Finishing last in the MLB gives the Buccos the first pick in the draft. Not that they know what to do with the first pick, but they have it. We have some great young players, but you can't have a winning team based on just five players. The news around here is that the manager is out...thank goodness. Hopefully, his coaches will be replaced. We here in the city hope for a new owner. A while ago, there was talk of Mario Lemieux buying the team. That would have been a wonderful deal, but it did not materialize.

So, congratulations to the teams who are going to the play offs next week. Baseball still is and will always be my favorite sport and the Pirates will always be my all time favorite team. Now, on to hockey, my second love.
