The Olympics!!
THANK YOU Chief!! OMG, it's already so exciting. I've been watching the tv since 6 am, and the first torch carrier of the day, started off on our beautiful and historic, Lion's Gate Bridge. (Inside.) -- Cece, 11:32:04 02/12/10 Fri
Phew, disruption averted. Vancouver is going nuts! The crowds are yelling like crazy, happy yelling that is. (NT) -- Your intrepid reported on the spot. Well a few miles from the spot--Cece, 12:54:35 02/12/10 Fri
Oh my goodness, a terrible tragedy already. A Georgian luge contestant has died during a practice run. I saw it on tv. He was going around 148 k.p.h. and flipped out into a steel pole. He was only 21. I know it's a dangerous sport, and always a risk. I believe he died instantly, doing the thing he loved to do. They've had the press interviews with the head of the IOC, and other heads, and they could barely speak. However, the games will go on, of course, though I've no idea if that particular luge sport will continue. The mood in the city is still very high (they probably don't know about the accident.) Although there was a relatively small protest earlier on, it wasn't too effective. But a huge protest is planned for later, and I'm hoping violence doesn't break out. (NT) -- Cece....Not trying to sound depressing. This is all super exciting., 17:33:29 02/12/10 Fri
