First of all, yes Gibson, I saw it....Canada's first gold ever on Canadian soil, won by Alexander Bilodeau in the men's mogels.Congratulations Canada!! Alex has a very moving back story. He gave up his interest in junior hockey when he was very young, because his older brother, who has severe cerebral palsy, couldn't skate. His brother has been by his side all his life, and is his biggest supporter.

Here is the total medal count up to last night:

1. France 2 0 1 (3) Leading in gold.
2. Germany 1 3 0 (4)
3. U.S. 1 2 3 (6) Leading in medals.
4. Canada 1 1 1 (3)
5. South Korea 1 1 0 (2)
6. Russia 0 0 1 (1)

Congratulations Everyone!

DH and I went down town, and walked around doing very little for about 8 hours. There were thousands of people milling the streets, and the atmosphere was fabulous. When it got dark, and the restaurants, beer gardens, clubs, street entertainment etc, were filled with Vancouverites and our fab visitors, it was just so exciting. At one point, we heard an enormous roar, and that's when we found out about our first gold medal won inside Canada. Yaaaayyyy.

I'm making a web album of street scenes just to give you a sense of the atmosphere.

So, any Olympic highlights from anyone else?
