Subject: stupid question for fanfic readers


If you found out that an author you enjoyed rewrote a familiar fanfic into a published book- (which of course would mean removing any ideas that belonged to DPB and working with only the author's original ideas) would you want to buy the book, or would you think you already pretty much know how the story turns out and pass? I know I've never gone to see the movie Titanic, I know how it ends, the boat sinks!! LOL.
