Subject: Wow. I didn't think we'd have this much interest. This is exciting!

So ... Give me a week or so to drum up a theme (feel free to post suggestions here), and get dates sorted out. I'll try to keep this as low key and fun as possible, and we'll see how it goes. If you have any writerly friends who might be arm-twisted into joining us, please give them a shout. The more authors we have, the more fun the whole thing is in the end.

    - Well, speaking as a reader (I haven't written in a long time), I wouldn't care, as long as there are new stories. Theresa is right about there being lots of unused prompts.       - I don't know -- I flaked on that challenge because I couldn't really get inspired by any of them. They weren't all suitable; a lot of them were really only meaningful if you knew the source material, and kind of generic otherwise. Here's another idea. We've done a number of quote based ficathons, what if we were to try a song-based one? I'm not thinking songfics, because to be perfectly honest, I'm not fond of those, but there's nothing wrong with a story that was inspired by a song ... (NT) -- Pixie, 18:42:10 02/10/09 Tue
- How 'bout including afew lines from the sond in the fic. or even the setting of a song but not revealing what the song is? maybe the readers would have to guess/identify it and that could be revealed at the end. characters singing the song or even purposely 'quoting' the song would NOT be allowed. Including any lyrics in the story itself skates awfully close to the songfic category, which truly makes me shudder (we all have our hangups, and songfics are one of mine, I'm afraid).
